Didn’t they realize he could tell it more DRAMATICALLY with his hands free?

Ah, the ever-present dynamic between artistic integrity and not being sacrificed on a bonfire by one’s queen…

Well, he can swing a bat, no doubt he can gesture. . . close enough

Hmm, the myrmarch has gems all over herself including rings on her fingers, and a scratch on her back. We don’t see any of that in this last panel, and she was last seen in a wholly different room. Maybe this is a different myrmarch?

If you look at the characters tab, you can see that there are 2, on in blue, and our primary antagonist in purple.

Huh, I had not realized that.

Other way around… the antagonist is the blue one, Antropas. This is presumably Antoinette, since the cast page for her does show some kind of fur clothing around the neck.

This is the non-antagonist one, Antoinette, who met the group at the entrance. Antropas, the evil one, just had a pie thrown in her face by Y.T..

Or at least the one who hasn’t done anything explicitly antagonistic yet.

          Wise observation!

My first take on Panel 4 was that Rusty is GMing an impromptu rpg.

Me too. I was like, “Wait, doesn’t he need them to roll some dice or something before telling them they didn’t hit?”

Isn’t he just recounting the events if the, uh… somethingsball game?

That’s how they manage without dice

Yeah, his stint on a gnomish baseball team that the previous level was focused on.

I wonder if the formians aren’t so much engrossed by Rusty “telling” the story (which is rather abbreviated) than by them actually reading his mind at the same time, so they are pretty much watching his memories like a movie.

I don’t think the workers/warriors have mind-reading powers like their Myrmarch

It had to be something about the main reason they care about Rusty at all, I knew it XD

“isn’t relieved” Is that a sportsball pun?

I don’t think so. It’s just that Rusty ignoring Madeline’s dramatic entrance and continuing with his story as if she isn’t there might give the impression that he doesn’t appreciate her rescue attempt. The tooltip text assures us that this is not the case.

Needs more imagination. “It’s a long fly ball to center field! The center fielder catches it and shoots and …it’s directly in the hoop! Score! Wait, wait, no, the goalie is skating forward and calling it foul. That’s one less score in the over, making it a maiden over …once again.” (In memory of Calvinball.)
