So, an ant worker can carry a huge suitcase belonging to a giant, but it takes two ants to carry a similarly-sized cake?
Is that suitcase made of cardboard and filled with pillows, or something?
The cake needs to be carried level so it won’t tip over.
Yeah, I guess they don’t accept “tips”.
Oh, yes. P.S. Might wanna move Y.T. from the ‘Enemies’ to the ‘Friends’ section on the Cast page. She seems friendly enough. For a snake in the grass.
Friendship is survival.
Y.T. might take that as an affront.
“You are the enemy of my enemy, mammal, but I do not have ‘friendsss’.”
Oh, there’s the pink champagne on ice. Though I’d say Rusty is very much the prisoner of someone else’s device.
Good eye! I was starting to wonder if we’d ever see any pink champagne.
Are we missing a Fighter and a Wizard? I see the bad luck magnet thief and the cleric. And WHERE IS MADDIE????
Is the one facing Rusty the same one as Maddie was dealing with? Does this mean she got away and they interrogate her friend? Or something worse?
The myrmarch facing Rusty in this page doesn’t have a jewel-encrusted carapace like the one Madeline encountered did, but her clothes are the same and she’s holding the same kind of drink glass. Either it’s a standard uniform (Antoinette was clothed differently, but she did share the high collar) or the gems are removable (…why!?).
The area is also different. It’s more indoors than where Madeline went.
I do wonder what the point of capturing Rusty is, given that Rusty wasn’t causing them any trouble (yet) and is unlikely to be loquacious enough to be interrogated. Then again, having a hostage is a pretty good anti-paladin measure…
Now, is Rusty in more trouble here or in the cross over?
The big guy having a massage could be Fighter.
Still has his boots on.
But Fighter is blonde! I guess the two getting massages could be Fighter and the Elven Wizard.
The comic’s comment doesn’t mention Fighter – only Thief, Wizard and Cleric seem to have been intentionally hidden.
If the leader and the Bug-In-Black are included, I could 32 ants.
The royal count is an ant more.
Rogue: top left by the massive stack of suitcases, her bad luck on display
Cleric: bottom left by the pool, sipping some ale
Wizard: best I can figure he’s in the top right in the spa area, sitting on the left-chair
Martin Handford: is he the one in the dining hall, sitting below and to the right of the minotaur?
Also, gotta appreciate the little details, like the minotaur in the dining hall eating soup with his pinky delicately raised.
Yeah, that was my reaction on seeing Thief… accident prone as ever. And yes, I think you’re right about Wizard… not quite as clearly recognisable as the other two, but the robes look to be the right colour.
Yeah, this was still back before Wizard had that “accident” with the Belt of Gender Change and became slightly more fashion conscious.
Impressive! Most impressive.
Martin Handford would probably be a lot easier to find if I had any idea what he looked like.
Martin Handford in real life is a Caucasian man with short hair and glasses. His cartoon self depiction has brown hair and a beard with no glasses. Also, the object he is interacting with appears to have red and white vertical stripes, for no discernible reason.
The ham has Waldo’s red and white stripes, so despite the difference in appearance, it’s probably supposed to be Martin Handford.
I don’t either so I’ll guess he’s in the suit of armor!
Impossible: Find Fighter and Mr. Stabby.
😛
What a lovely place
Wow! Just … Wow!
So does this count as Tiffany twisted?
Oh no, it does, doesn’t it? Yuan-Tiffany twists through the tunnels. Terrific.
My word, so it does! I suggested a few weeks back that the myrmarch’s jewellery might be an allusion to “Tiffany-twisted”, but I didn’t even think about what Y. T. stood for. Since she was chosen by a reader vote, that’s some impressive serendipity!
What bird is that being roasted in the dining hall? A Dire Chicken?
A phoenix, maybe? I hear you just can’t kill them.
too small for roc. Unless it’s a miniature roc.
Would that make it a cornish roc?
A roc hen?
The diving mermaid must be a spellcaster, or how else would she get up to the diving board! I wonder if she’s a B-shell. (If you get that one, you’ve been here a long time).
That, or you read up on the archives when you arrived, like pretty much everyone who reads a webcomic does.
I found Jimmy Hoffa.
Serpentine savior slithers stealthily through sinuous shaft, seeking shanghaied sidekick.
Technically, Rusty is the party leader on this one.
Technically.
I’d like to know how the mermaid managed to climb up the diving board to jump into the pool
Umm… she probably didn’t?
It’s perfectly possible to enter the pool from any other direction, if you don’t mind not making as big a splash.
In fact, one of the mermaids looks to be in the process of doing so.
Spidey is talking about the blue-haired mermaid, who seems to be in mid-dive at the moment pictured. (I know the perspective is a bit off, but those motion lines look like she’s plunging from a height.)
Yuan-Ti crawling through the vents? That means…
Snake? SNAKE!? SNAAAAKEEE!!!
