Derek is slightly psychic, which is why he got slightly the Hell out of the way when Maddie barged in.

    Oh no!

Maddie has a bad case of the Centipede’s Dilemma.

In a moment of mortality-inspired reflection (and maybe a little self-doubt), she started thinking about HOW she does all that crazy flippy graceful stuff…and now she can’t do any of it anymore!

Kind of like how the everything is fine until someone asks, “How are we flying?” which causes them to instantaneously plummet.

      “A Centipede was happy quite,
      Until a Toad, in fun,
Asked: ‘Pray – which leg comes after which?’
This raised her mind to such a pitch,
She laid, distracted, in a ditch…
      …Wondering how to run.”

Well….just going off the top of my head I believe some res spells don’t 100% fix all the damage that caused you to expire so just looking at this I perhaps say some TBI effects from the explosion, balance and coordination ect…

Hmm. . . notice that Derek says he can’t magic Mimic back to health, owing to rationing, but Maddie, it appears, is another matter.

Not something clerical magic can do?

Clerical magic can give you HP back and undo stat debuffs. What it cannot do is restore stats or levels lost as a resurrection penalty.

Depending on the edition, of course. Back in 2nd and further back there were restoration spells that would return lost XP.

Restoration spells can restore lost levels in 3rd too, but there’s a specific exception if you lost the level due to being raised.

Looks like the dynamite really did a number on her inner ear.

    MADDIE!

Still did fairly well considering the stack of boxes, especially with a cake on the top.

You can have the best dexterity score in all of existence, but you have to roll a 1 eventually.

Madeline – shopping??? And that is the _least_ Madeline outfit I have ever seen her in.

I’m starting to sympathize with Dorilys.

Shopping? Sure, right from the moment we saw her: http://rustyandco.com/comic/level2/level-2-1/

That’s true. I suppose she hadn’t done any recently enough for me to remember (which could have been last week). Retract the “shopping???”, then.

The rest still stands, though. πŸ™‚

Derek can cope with monster anatomy much more quickly than Koenig managed.

OK. How much more “learning” is Maddy getting from “defeat”? Maybe Dink?/Dinkum has flipflops of facile-ability to sell?

It’s nice to see that even when Maddie isn’t wearing her armor, she still maintains her standard color scheme.

The dress has gotta be the part messing her up, right? I mean, every time she’s done all the flippy stuff she’s been wearing armor. The weight differential on that must be extreme. All the Dex in the world isn’t going to save you from that awful beast known as Sense Memory.

Muscle Memory can screw you up good if you’re not paying close attention, too.
A friend of mine jumped a second friend of mine trying to be funny.
Second friend was a black belt in a martial art (Ki aikido, I think).
First friend sailed for distance but luckily did not impact anything solid, as second friend realized what was going on after the throw had started and recovered enough to alter the flight path.
Second friend got respect from that point on.

I’m not sure what is weirder. Seeing Maddy without her armor or seeing her trip.

She needs a therapeutic mesmerist. Ask her subconscious why she doesn’t want to be an adventurer anymore. πŸ™‚

She might have let it grow longer because she is a little wary about sharp objects right now.
