When Cube steals a base, he STEALS a base.

So does getting hit by the ball not make you out in this, or was Cube on base first?

I haven’t paid attention to baseball since I played little league, but I think someone holding the ball has to touch the runner with the same hand or glove the ball is in to tag him out. You’re not out if you just get hit by a flying ball, just in a lot of pain.

If there’s nobody in control of the ball, it’s not an out.

You wouldn’t want to encourage the outfielders to purposely drill baserunners.

…. Well, okay, maybe in GNOME Baseball….

Dull. Merely drilling them is not half the fun of – other things.

Under the original rules of baseball, hitting a runner with a thrown ball was the approved method of putting him out. In this case, however, I believe Cube was on base before the ball hit.

could be a hockey goal, or maybe that is by left first base

Yeah, based on what I can piece together from this comic, it looks like the base path ends at second base (maybe third base?), at which point it becomes a different sport where you try to score a goal.

OMG, Robespierre’s evil smile with that little slapstick in his mitt. And Cube takes time to enjoy a stadium dog.

Robespierre is quickly catching up to Madeline in the Favourite Supporting Character list XD

      Oh COME ON. Madeline earned her top spot, and it will take more than a little strategising to displace her ‘walking out of the fire’ moment. Or her ‘big boom sacrifice’ moment. Robby would need to do something *special* to top that;

Hmmm…. I’m guessing the pitcher is going to be aiming to hit the batter with the ball… but with that small a target will he be able to???? I mean, the little guys can be quite agile and could be able to make all the shots miss them and walk to base… if that’s in the rules.

In baseball baseball, if the pitch hits the batter, the batter gets to go to first anyway. Though that might not be much consolation.

So if he takes first base with him, is he safe all the way to second?

Cube, Cube, Cube… everyone knows you never slide to first! It’s always faster to overrun the base!

Hopefully, Cube’s natural talent will continue to compensate for these kinds of mental lapses. Hey, when you’re as good as he is, you can afford to make a couple of rookie mistakes.

      Cube overran the baseman.

Not a rookie mistake at all. It’s just rookie showboating. No better way to demoralize the other team then to do fatally flawed things and get away with it with flair and style lol.

That Troll is dead, cube is eating him and Acid damage is one of the few things they can’t heal from. That troll is dead.

Hmm. Not sure if this is a typo or an interesting aspect of this game–Panel 1, the troll doesn’t say “running right for first base”, he says “Running for -right- first base.”
Is there a first base on the left as well?

By the look of the field in that same panel, my guess is yes.

That certainly looks like part of a gridiron in the background of panel 1. Is the visible base at or near midfield, then?

…wait. “Right” first base? Is there more than one first base?
