In the same building where Madeline and Mimic first met, when Madeline slaughtered all his poker buddies. (See the title page of level 2 and the title page of level 8.)
Roxy is actually a full elf, Robespierre is her brother by adoption. She could still be older than expected, but since they call each other siblings I guess they’re not too far apart in age.
Plenty of stupidly dangerous contestants, but these two get jobs out of it? Doesn’t really make sense. Except as a future plot hook of course. Yes, they know where the 8ball is kept. The keeper could’ve just moved it instead. Probably less work than keeping an eye on these two, and with a better chance of success.
Well, even if you relocated it, you STILL need to keep an eye on them – what with all the game infractions (and outside-of-game CRIMES) they’d committed, so this is technically a form of ‘supervised custody’.
Also, you’re taking their creative impulses and making productive use of them; left un-attended, they might otherwise be channeled into a heist or something.
They’re thieves. Who better to rig traps for the Games than people who specialize in disarming them, who you can guarantee aren’t taking part in the next round?
I hope the next arc is shorter. This one was longer than the previous two put together, and the previous two were already the longest so far back then. I worry that if thiis keeps up, the next level is going to take 500 pages.
I just hope it isn’t leading into a wrapup of the comic itself! I’ve seen other comics where each arc got longer and more complicated and the creators got exhausted trying to keep up with the workload, leading to them announcing a “hiatus.” Here’s hoping that’s not the case here, I love these guys.
So many loose ends: Where are Princess, Sir M., the Viscount. What happend to Maladine, Madeline and the Monster-eyeball?
But: Every loose end is another man´s plot hook. Or the same man´s on a different level…
“Spying. Theft. Sabotage. Explosions. You two hairy-footed halflings are the biggest troublemakers to have walked through these doors in the last decade. You’re hired.”
I think Dirk’s back leg might be hidden behind the background layer, I see his orange foot fuzz in about the correct spot so I’m guessing that’s where his foot should be.

I dunno about the rest of the readers, but my expression is pretty much alongside of the characters in panel #2. A total teaser, but I LOVE it.
Are… are they playing Mah Jongg?
In the same building where Madeline and Mimic first met, when Madeline slaughtered all his poker buddies. (See the title page of level 2 and the title page of level 8.)
Could be Scrabble. Without seeing the playing area all I can say is that they’re too square to be dominoes.
It was labeled Mah Jongg on the title page.
I don’t think you play scrabble with no board my good sir
Just thinking, as a half elf she probably has an extended life. Those older women are probably some of her childhood friends she is catching up with.

Ah, but you need someone to design the next game.

Serves whatsherface for her rules lawyering.
Oh right. This was happening.
C’mon it’s only been a little over 4 years. How’d you forget?

No kidding. It’s been so long the art style has changed since this level started.
To be fair, in practice, each successive experience level does take longer to reach…
*gets comfy

Awesome!
This marks probably the longest story arc I’ve ever seen a webcomic finish, and with panache (and tea) no less!
damn, that rollover text…pointing back into stuff put in the comic itself. 😛

There’s going to be some more denouement, or so I would guess from the lack of the usual art about the next level
In reference to the mouse over text, no I do not know a better way to create a buzzsaw than via bees.
is that Burt’s Bees?
Better decide where the princess landed or someone will make a fan cartoon where she lands in Ponyville.:)
I’ll do you one better and say she gets turned into a pony by passing through a portal EQG-style.
We all know that could happen anyway.
“Spying. Theft. Sabotage. Explosions. You two hairy-footed halflings are the biggest troublemakers to have walked through these doors in the last decade. You’re hired.”
I’m beginning to suspect our dear Mimic won’t make it past level 10…
OkayOkayOkay I know I’m late to the table, but…
The lady on the left.
We have to call her Granticore.
