Ok, I never thought he was -stupid-. But he IS showing a level of “smart” here that I didn’t expect.
He quickly understood the problem to be him thinking only about what he -wants- them to do!

All Robespierre needed was a little nudge in the right direction, really. He had to sit down and communicate with the right person — and the right person in this case is Mimic, who is more socially skilled.

So, living with an adopted Elf has opened him to a more sophisticated outlook than most of his tribe can (usually) understand … ?

Well, Mimic does spend a fair amount of his time as not-a-box, so…

Well, this all… hinges on Robespierre understanding the comparison. 😉

Well, for mimic -everyone- is outside the box, unless he eats them or something, so….

Well, you need to know where the box is to think outside the box, so the box is ahead of the game in that respect.

Robespierre’s eyes while reading were a true spectacle to behold!

Although, now that eye think about it, Mimic’s eye is even better to behold.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Mimic’s metaphor of choice here is thinking about things’ (and people’s) “shapes,” and what those “shapes” are suited for, and unsuited for? That’s some quality character writing, right there.

It does seem like an especially mimicky approach to the philosophy of individualism.

If only more team leaders and players in situations would use this analysis more often…
Excellent analogy and top notch writing. Well done.

Mimic is telling Robspierre not to let himself get boxed into considering only one course of action.
Robspierre needs to learn to think about a problem, instead of simply boxing people’s ears when he gets upset.
Mimic is capable of subtle planning; I always knew he was shifty.
