Con job just pulled something out of his coat. Alchemis’s fire, maybe?

Yes, good catch. It’s hard to tell perspective in a flat panel, but that fire looks like it’s coming from the heroes’ left, rather than in front of them where the dragon is standing.

Poor Presti. That has gotta hurt.

Ah yes, the two-man con. A point man, and someone to make it seem real.

Not a deck of illusions, a deck of summons.

Presti attempted to out-logic a fireball… she failed, because fireballs don’t need logic

You’re assuming the fireball came from the dragon. Look a little more closely at panel 5 – specifically, the orange bottle being pulled out of a coat.

I like the dragon design. With that massive lower body, long neck and small head he really does look like nature’s flamethrower or acetylene torch!

They really, really need to stop being predictable. Stabs can’t fight illusions, and Presti’s overthinking each tactic. They’re doing to her what she did to the illitids.

Stabs blames Presti for losing their disguise, when Stabs is the one who blew it? More than a bit unfair, if you ask me.

Maybe it’s not so much the cover being blown as it’s being separated from maddie.

Caution: When dealing with derro, don’t assume anything is safe. Period. Dem boys be crazy!

Also, these two really need to get over the infighting if they’re gonna survive.
