Nice to see Madeline again ! But how did she manage to jump that high this time ? Is she carrying a trampoline around or something ?

On a different subject, it looks like a certain gnome has made a new sale since chapter 2…

She’s upgraded from a hoe to a shovel!

Also: unusually good choice on clothing. Most female warriors would wear virtually nothing and not feel anything!

She saw that hat and she just couldn’t say no to it! There was girlish squealing.

The shovel goes with the clothes. Much more practical for dealing with snow.

Well, so much for my hope that Sir Calamitus would be the next (anti)hero of the party. Ah well, Madeline works as a second choice.

Oh, Hiiiiii, Madeline! Love the new look.
Splitting hairs, but that’s a spade ‘cuz paladins don’t shovel [stuff] and it’s easier to riff puns off. But what’s the upgrade from the Hoe-ly Avenger? Grand Spade of Justice?

On the other scale, OW! Slapped right in the eye!

The Russian Spetznaz have shown an entrenching tool with sharpened edges is a very nasty weapon – it makes sense a spade would work well for a creature big enough to need a pole-arm attack!

I’m running a tabletop session this weekend. At least one of my monsters is definitely going to be Spanging things – best sound effect evah! Also, loving the hat. People aren’t wearing enough hats

Hmm.. Also getting a vision of Madie doing the dance… ok, so it’s not all bad.

Ya! She’s Back! Ring of Flying? I just figured it out; the bully wugs must have had rings of warmth! We need to hear the story behind the baby carriage too. lol

The weapon upgrade is perfect. When she hits Epic, she’ll be driving a combine harvester.

(Great to see you again, Madeline. After the brief cameo from Plaidbeard, I’d hoped we could catch up with other old friends soon.)

For a second I thought she’d got her hands on a real weapon, but no, that’s not a spear, it’s a shovel. Which is about as good as you’ll get for an improvised weapon, true, but still not really built for it.

And that’s 8d6 fire damage for that kick in the 2nd panel! You don’t mess with a Remorhaz

      October 10, 2023, 1:50 am | # | Reply

At least in 3.5E, the 8d6 fire damage only applies if the remorhaz is “enraged”, and later editions seem to use milder amounts of fire damage. Presumably the remorhaz is not already enraged at the point when she kicks it, and she doesn’t touch it afterwards (although she comes very close).

Am I the only one who thinks that “Spang” sound effect should have been “Spade”? Maybe I read Erfworld too many times.
