Rusty would taste pretty coppery I think and go down like lead; Mimic’s would be cardboard; and Cube (assuming he’s all brains) would give the Don such a case of acid reflux.

Very suspicious if someone’s that happy to see me.

Why would Rusty taste “coppery?” He eats ferrous metals, not copper.

Mimic’s brain would be like Silly Putty or Play-Doh.

Cube has no brain, he’s an Ooze.

Have you seen the job interviews? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_q3s4_Ku5rw

        I was thinking blood iron.

ok, I was thinking early version of Kashi (before their consumer appeal studies and they got a sense of humor and started boldly printing on their boxes healthy twigs & bark).

And I figured Cube since Cube appears capable of intelligent action … Egads, I’m suddenly having DS-9 Flashbacks to Odo trying to teach baby slime to appreaciate solids

Yes. Seen the job interviews before. Gave a set of those stamps to an old D&D friend of mine when he got promoted to H/R manager.

As far as I know, Rust Monsters, while having a preference for ferrous metals, are in fact capable of eating all metals and metalloids including metals which are incapable of corrosion like Gold. In order to know about rusty’s biology we would need to see his blood; I do not think we have ever been shown. If Rusty bleeds green, then there is a good chance that he needs a decent amount of copper in his diet. Though I do have to agree about the mindflayer. If anything Rusty would taste more robust; perhaps a titanium taste. He is rather difficult to get rid of and one of the stronger members of the group.

See, Mimic doesn’t know just when to be quiet – there was a plot spoiler there he just talked right over…

The Don cooks brains before he eats them? O.o

That’s depraved, even for an illithid.

Oh, I don’t know. Just because they *can* eat them raw doesn’t mean they have to or like to. I mean, if you’re not actually in combat for it, why rush?

Al dente brains? That seems like it’d require some kind of like, setting agent.
