Gotta appreciate a mind flayer that is polite, as well as a wise guy tough that has Mind Blast.

I wonder if Perkins can score a Restore Teeth spell after he’s done.

Funny how a bare foot still makes the “BOOT” sound. One of the more subtle ways to induce SAN loss.

I like V’inny’s style. Courteous, yet still going to kill you. I mean, you have to understand he has a position here, and you walkin’ away with your life after this kind of disrespect, well, that would just damage his position, know whaddimean?

I think anyone who’s bared foot can make the ‘boot’ effect against something when casually kicking it out of the way must have a strength score worthy of the 0/00 feats of old.

      Plus: ouch.

You know you are in trouble when the Mind Flayer puts on brass knuckles…

Brass knuckles that leave ‘MIND’ and ‘FLAY’ imprinted in your flesh, to boot.

It’s “FLAYER”, just so you know.

There is a part of me that wants to point out it would leave a bruise that says yalF dniM, but I always get a little confused by this stuff so I may be wrong…

But when you (the victim) looks in the mirror it will be spelled correct again.

So the question is who you want to get the message:
Potential victims? Then it would be better if they can read it on your brass.
The victims friends? Then it should be mirrored.
The victim? Then again the text should be written normally.

I like his style; but he should have read the list of “things I will not do if I become an evil overlord” One of them is Kill the Heros first; then brag, gloat etc. I think the princess will wake up with a truely monumental hangover and kill the mind flayer for wakeing her up!

I’m with MFSulla on the “V’inny shoulda known better” argument; he *says* “So you hit me with what you got left, and I’ll hit you with what I got left…” BUT strikes Presti *first*, implying ‘narrative fate’ is going to give her an opportunity to strike back during a lull or pause or interruption, and that ‘rebuttle’ is likely going to be quite dangerous to him (like maybe a Message cantrip to wake the princess?)

Despite not being the head guy, V’inny is clearly bucking for archetypical Evil Overlord with this kind of self-defeating behaviour…

Wait, wait! Is Mimic smiling after being kicked? That can’t be good for V’ Inny.

Mimic is sorta cute in this comic! So small and adorable! Poor Presti though…that looked like it hurt!

Doesn’t fit the pattern of four letters per. Of course, that pattern is only REALLY relevant for tattoos on human fingers, which he has neither.

In other news, Ms. P seems to have worked a lot harder than most of the other adventurers. I do hope that her employers show some appreciation.

    1. vinny isn’t stupid, he is how ever not smart for a squid head.
    2. perkins didn’t have a fireball spell, she threw a “necklace of fireballs” which fits with her motif, really look at her bag would she be pulling loose clumps of “bat guano” out of that nice of a purse? i seriously doubt she screams class. so her big spell(s) havn’t even been touched.
    3. what spells has she actually cast? shes “used” allot of items and spellcraft (abilty) but she has also, landed nimbly a few drops and rolled away from incoming object, enemies and show typical rogish agilty… so she may just be a rogue with the use magic item feat.

4.has every one forgot the little chest guy took levels in “beholder” he still has a lvl1 eye beam he can use, i beleive the “presmetic” setting could mix things up for the below standard vinny.

      1. Agreed.
      2. There’s not much evidence for this. Eschew Components is a pretty easy and common low-op feat (and I’m not going to look up if she did the components deal earlier). Some wizards are paranoid about that kind of thing. I don’t recall any necklaces being involved in her pyrotechnics display, either, but it’s been a while.
      3. A lot. Spellcraft just identifies spells that other spellcasters have cast, dex is usually a wizard’s tertiary or secondary stat (depending), and UMD isn’t a feat for rogues. Just a class skill. At this point in time we have no reason to think she hasn’t cast a spell for every one of her magical effects. Plus, you know, low levels still. She doesn’t have a lot of ammo to begin with.
      4. I did forget that! It shouldn’t penetrate a real Mind Flayer’s SR, though. I still figure it’ll be a big deal that he’s been taken off screen.

3: Colour Spray, Melf’s Acid Arrow, Shield, Grease, Fly, Fireball, and possibly some others I forget. Incidentally, she did use a material component for the Grease spell (the margarine gag). Honestly, thinking that she’s anything other than a wizard at this point is kind of ridiculous.
