Hmm…looks like the princess is still drinking and partying heavy; and still having no luck keeping her boy friends….alive…lol. Now I’m waiting for the big ending. I bet it will end with a bang! {Ducking and covering from ‘pun fallout’]

Keeping them alive? Doesn’t she prefer them when they’re dead?

She prefers them — not dead.

Could be singular. She could have said, “Remove your hand, or I will.”

“Dude, I thought you said we were here to play ‘Bad to the Bone’?”
“No, man. I said the Princess likes to play ‘Bad to Bone’…”

Why can’t Mimic just make himself some hands?

I don’t know why he is limited in that way, but he’s been unable to make hands all along (first brought it up in Chapter 1, I think it was Strip 5 or 6.) Maybe he’s got a mental block that keeps him from looking like anything but furniture or walls, or maybe the author decided that a mimic who could take ANY shape wouldn’t be as funny – and I can’t argue with that.

Wonder if he can at least mimic up a cowboy hat for Presti to wave around, once she’s got a new target locked in?

The answer is as simple as “Mimics can’t do that”.

    Why not attack, THE MOON!
    Or the squidy headquarters.
I wonder if the Princess might just be able to punch it.. hmm.

    And I’m lovin’ the skeleton’s cigarette…

Okay, I am starting to get this feeling that there are a lot of people who want the Princess dead. I don’t know where I am getting this from, but it is there.

a cup? more like three bottles. I don’t think the Princess is a cup using person. :p

Well, at least trying to blow her up with a Maximized Magic Missile as she sleeps shows that the Mind Flayer Mafia has a good idea of who they’re dealing with. Smarter than Calamitus’s plan was, anyhow. (Heh. “Morally constrained…” what a maroon.)

I’m not convinced that the Dons are thinking any more clearly than Calamitus. I mean, given how the Princess treats people who just TRY to kill her, imagine the terrible things she would do to someone who actually blew her up!

If you haven’t realized it yet, the Princess wouldn’t be able to do much if she was splattered across the inside of her room or mixed with the rubble of it. But yeah, messing with the Princess and failing to kill her is a bad move.

Eh, there are resurrection spells. I think they’d have to blow her up real good to avoid leaving enough for one.

@matt w: That would be where Reincarnation comes in. So she can come back as a can of Whoop-ass

With her attitude and karma? She’d be the first person to actually manage to roll ‘Dragon’ for her new species on the reincarnation tables. (No, I know that result’s not on the table… but she IS the DM’s girlfriend…)

Is that a face on the nightstand’s lamp? Also, is that a ‘princess and the pea’ reference with the many stacked mattresses?

It’s great that Mimic has basically no game-mechanical tools to interact with this situation, but is still able to save the day just by speaking the words that need to be spoken.

I love my d&d nice and crunchy like a proper grognard, but some of the best stories involve a level 1 commoner with nothing but a pure heart to triumph against overwhelming adversity via nothing more than clever wits or the ability to make friends.
