I wonder just how many gamers will try this on their DM’s.

I’ve pulled off similar twice in my 35 years of gaming, both times with rings of levitation. Both times I got enemies //and// party members with the trick.

Hey, if you aren’t willing to sacrifice pawns party members, are you really willing to win?

Okay, now that is the perfect kind of trick to pull. Extra experience points for a well-excuted bluff!!

    Reminds me of a joke.

Two guys are in a bar in a high-rise. The first one turns to the other and says, “This drink is great! It lets me fly!” To demonstrate, he downs a glass and steps out the window, where he floats high above the ground. The second guy says, “That’s amazing! Bartender, give me one of those!” He downs the glass, steps out the window, and falls to his death. The bartender turns to the second guy and says, “Superman, you son of a bitch.”

She obviously went to the same school as the Roadrunner.

Great use of a Fly or Levitate spell 🙂

And 12,000 experience points later she is now a level 6 wizard… Good thing defeating something 7 CR’s above your level single handedly doesn’t give too much exp 😉

Sadly, she’ll stop gaining experience once she goes up a level, and then she’ll be one point away from leveling up again. This is, of course, assuming you aren’t house-ruling that away, and honestly I’m assuming these people have a lot of house rules.

^The Superman joke is actually funnier if you add the bit about him omly being an asshole when drunk.

That first panel has an excellent same-panel-capturing-different-moments sequence. Scott McCloud would be proud. Wow, is this really the same strip that made me laugh with the Cube trying to climb up two really tiny steps? Somebody’s been putting in a lot of practice.

One of the reasons I spend more time reading gaming webcomics than actually playing RPGs…setting up a gag like this in-game requires a lot of advance explanation and thus doesn’t come as any kind of a surprise when it actually happens. Sad.

Not so much if you pass your DM a note, announce only what the other party members see, make all your rolls, and then explain afterwards. Assuming they’re not paranoid….

Honestly, I was hoping it was some kind of Cloudwalk but that was beautiful regardless! I love her face says “you can’t get here… right?” and he just falls for it. >_<
