    Deleted scene:
    “Rusty, what’s your plan?”
    “Eat–”
    “Never mind.”

“My plans never work.” Ouch. Roxy is taking it hard.

“I’ll ask Cube.” Eh, don’t sell yourself short. Knowing who to ask to get sh!t done is almost as good as being the one getting sh!t done, and it is a plan which is working. Usually.

They’re meant to be a team, too.
Maybe if they all put their ideas together, they can create a proper plan.

Elvish bard has left the building.

I always wanted to say that.

=_= Rue Lily. If you and your two toadies don’t suffer for this in some way, I shall be bitterly disappointed.

At the very least, Roxie hasn’t handed over the papers that pasty poseur wanted to hide the fact she’s been thrown in jail for cheating.

I don’t think most of us here would feel too bad if one of those rifts just so happened to open up under the elf city.

AND they don’t even give her any of the details about the stone.

Nor the undead that took it.

A pity they don’t have a cleric or wizard handy to scry for the Varial Stone. What was that line about the elves’ oracles being useful?

Perhaps it’s the elf-girl whom Derek mentioned in the Critical Missive. Perhaps she still uses glitter pen.

Maybe they did? Hinting towards a tailor or a cosmetic parlour? Could “sunscreen” be code for “vampire”?

It was a bit of a roundabout path to get to “We don’t have the thing you want. Go get the thing you want. Then you can have the thing you want.” I mean, does monster loot ever really have to go back to its original owner? The elves did start this particular diplomatic row.

Possession is 9/10 the law, after all. Although this can get a little bit complicated when ghosts are involved.

and one can hardly blame our crew for not wanting to stick around after for more info. Perhaps they could have tried a little harder and longer, but there’s no real reason to expect success if so.

Who… WHO … could have predicted Rusty would say that? Only an Oracle, I suppose.

I assume you mean Mimic? Rusty didn’t speak in this page.

Alyssa is still a bitch, but Dahlia at least shows some shadow of concern.

Recurring gags are at their most powerful when they recur sparingly enough to be unexpected. This is a textbook example.

Imagine the day when they actually do disguise themselves as common, unassuming pieces of household furniture.

Okay, I think I just had a reality glitch. Could have sworn that Cube was defending the castle, and he wasn’t in any of the scenes from this chapter. Also I don’t remember a panel where we got a top-down view of them walking into Rue Lilly’s office slash audience chamber. In addition, Rusty wasn’t in any scenes within Rue’s office or the reception room outside it (where they were told to find the unemployment office), so I thought he had wandered away to cause trouble elsewhere.

Castle Life was the sequence where Cube defended the castle and they found the rift. Then the Princess came back, Zar announced his news, and Derek and Dorilys are doing the castle defense while our three went off with Roxy for the artifact.
