Logically, the castle side because they clobbered its foes. Perhaps Slobber recruited them.
But the talks had this much effect: the bullywogs offended the formians by trying to eat the servers. (At least, that’s the most obvious route. Could have been more behind the scene stuff.)
Maddie is proof that “Optimism” is the only character trait that can be considered an advantage and a drawback simultaneously.
Nah, anything that could be considered a heroic virtue; Loyalty, Honour, Sacrifice, Humility, Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Kindness, Patience, Humility, etc can all be both advantages and drawbacks.
This is why the best rpg system in the world, GURPS, treats them all as Disadvantages. Because they all limit the PCs choices, even if they may give some level of social regard through reputation.

I listed the first four from my personal ‘code of virtues’ and then copied the Seven (current) Virtues as per the Catholic mythology, and failed to notice that the ostentatious Church also considers humility a virtue…
I’d have added ‘to err’ to my list, but that’s not really a virtue no matter how humans all share in it.
To be precise, those are the Seven Lively Virtues.
There are also the Seven Christian Virtues, which are the Cardinal Virtues — Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, and Temperance — and the Theological Virtues — Faith, Hope, and Love.
Both of which are kinda old

Just make sure you don’t try to pay them with silver. Copper, gold, gems if you must, but not silver. They might like moonstones though.
