Yay Zar! Been wondering when he’d come back.

Though given the stage of the villain plans, I wonder if he’s going to be ok.

This must be weird for Oozanka. Imagine if someone pulled at your elbow skin and made a magic hole with a tiny psion in it.

Doesn’t everyone have a tiny Psion in their elbow? Just me? Oh

That might be weird for Oozanka, but for Zar it’s just a psion-typic breakthrough.

Not the first time. He did it before to kick off the three separated quests.

And since he refers to Zar as “Master” quite possibly it has happened often before.

I don’t think the elbow psion gets less weird when a person pulls him out of your elbow more often.

Your castle? Sorry Princess, “your castle” is Oozanka’s exoskeleton. You are but a transient occupant of her interior.

It’s Oozanka’s exoskeleton but it still belongs to Princess. In fact I suspect Oozanka belongs to Princess as well, at least if their ownership laws are closer to middle ages ones than ours.

You go ahead and try to enforce those laws on a being that can rearrange the entire castle’s structure.

This is a universe where a small team of plucky adventurers killing mountain-sized monsters is a once-a-week thing. Oozanka was right to be nice to the tiny crunchy people living in her exoskeleton.

Besides, she needs them to listen to things.

But there’s no reason why amiable concord is infeasible. There is no fundamental conflict in their interests.

Grammar check for Derek: “*starting* asking questions” should be “*start* asking questions”.

I always forget that Mimic sees through Tremor-sense.
Does he…still have his eye? Or was that discarded after the gag ended, al la cartoon logic?

Mimic still has his eye. That’s why he was disappointed that nobody told him there was pictures in the last comic; he’d have opened his eye to have a look.

I didn’t understand that line in the last comic; thanks for explaining it to me!

I *think* it’s shown up since then, he just doesn’t usually have it out, hence his disappointed “why di’n’t y’ tell me there were drawings?” in the previous strip: he’d have used his eye if he knew they were coming. Or at least that was my interpretation of it.
Edit: Shoulda reloaded the page before answering!

If he could open it for pictures, he should have opened it for Gnomish Baseball.

Nah, this is just regular d&D seriousness. No d&d campaign is “all silly” or “all serious” like you have to pick one or the other. It’s a sin() wave.

A sin wave is when the sinfulness (or number of sins?) increases and decreases periodically. Madeline is not contributing to it.

Looks like the “can’t reach him” reason for Zar not being there does not apply, including with timing.

So either he’s not at her beck and call — or perhaps he can’t leave where he is.

The alt text calls this a zoom meeting, so ‘unable to leave’ seems likely.
