Huh, I got here before the alt-text was put in. Hovering over the image just says “Level 12: #2”

It’s the perk of being a DM’s Girlfriend. The DM not going to make reasonable penalty adjustments to Hide checks just because of the Princess’s character description, and no one else at the table is going to insist that they should all take a penalty.

Stabs didn’t fail her perception check! She just doesn’t care!

That is the chillest welcome back adressed to royalty I’ve ever seen.

Could also say ‘chilliest’, with the subtext ‘piss off’. I’m not sure that’s a good tone to pick when addressing a royal badass; then again it’s not entirely undeserved with a view to both the potentially botched stealth check and the fact that Princess previously left them all in a big mess having to fend for themselves.

In all fairness Princess didn’t exactly give Dorilys a “good to see you again”, herself. “Formal” or “warm” isn’t typically the nature of Princess and Dorilys’ interactions. Recall in Level 8 when Dorilys presented whiskey to a recently-torched and torqued-off Princess who stomped up to her. Their relationship is more skin to a military officer and subordinate.

Remember that Dorilys was one of the figures the Princess remembered surrounding her after she gained in strength but did not improve in ruling.

So… where did Princess leave Plaidbeard? He might present a bigger threat to stealth checks (and strategy overall) than Princess…

She. Recall it’s not Plaidbeard the pirate himself, but rather his daughter. 🙂

You’re right, of course! Thanks for the excuse to binge-read the archive (once) again! 😉

Referring to her as Plaidbeard is not wrong. Her full name is Tartania Plaidbeard.

        …I don’t think we’ve heard her father’s forename.

Yeh, but the correction was about “he might present” being “she might present” instead~

She’s knocked out and we don’t see Princess’s left hand. My money’s on “Tarta is currently being dragged along the ground”.

Coulda left her for Stabs and Mimic to keep watch over, too.

Really though, is there any better camouflage than being so incredibly scary that anyone who sees you desperately tries to pretend that they didn’t?
