Cube’s too good for a mere cubicle.

Of course! As a co-founder of the group, he requires…nay, deserves…a C-suite corner office!

    “secant”
    ** goggle search **

Ah, so Cube is communicating by altering his hypothenuses.
    ** think about it **

IOW, wriggling his shape. Yeah, that makes sense.

He is definitely getting there in the space filling side.

And all those irregular shapes don’t pack well.

Well, he *is* a square peg in a round hole. Good thing he can smoosh himself a bit.

The spear is a secant – both of Cube, and of whomever the pointy end intersects.

Secant means, essentially, “thing that cuts through.”

Normally, we only talk about secants of circles and spheres. Trigonometry has extended the meaning to angles, generally, by way of triangles intersecting circles.

It’s the little details that grab attention. The name plate “CUBE, G” is written in squared letters.

Also that’s a lot of writing for somebody with no hands.

      Who says it’s writing? Maybe it’s acid-etched.

I wonder if he keeps dragging Presti along because he needs someone to draw the diagrams and write the theories.

I’m not surprised by the writing, Cube is perfectly capable of handling objects designed for hands. What I’m surprised by are the books. I mean, Cube obviously has something akin to sight and thus can presumably read, but how does he turn the pages? Does he absorb the book, turn a page, and pop it back out? That’s like stuffing a book into your mouth to turn a page with your tongue, I would think. Though if Cube’s capable of perceiving objects inside of him, he might not bother spitting the book back out until he’s done reading it.

He’s using a spear. In theory, a pen would be no different. There’s no reason to think his fine motor control skills are weak.

Someone needs to learn not to understimate the cube.
Also fiiting, as he watches out for any and all angles to make sure the plan is square.

I wonder if the horned figures are the Viscount’s demon familiar.

Soooo based on this: the hostile forces have attacked every wall -except- the east wall and the southwest wall. They’ve gotten in on the west side, either through regular means or by launching people over the walls. They appear to be targetting everywhere except the tower with the princess in it or the chest (which might be Mimic?). So they either don’t know where they’re located or specifically aren’t targetting the princess/the castle’s treasury. Which means that all of the attackers are just a distraction force.

So the real attack is what Presti commented on a few pages ago: mysterious fungus, disappearing moat water, and/or the room who’s temperature has been rising consistently every day.

My bet is on the room who’s temperature has been rising.

They don’t have to be disconnected.

The rising temperature could be the marquis’s masters. The fungi was on Growf after the games. Waters? Still too little known to speculate.

Let’s not forget that the fungal growth was a part of the Viscount’s plan for infiltration. Whatever’s going on with the moat is probably tied to that somehow.

Remember how the gollem dust fell into the magma? I think that might explain the rising temperatures.
