I hate to do this, since it has nothing to do with the current comic, but what if we had more Rusty merchandise? I was thinking ‘Cube Socks’; if nothing else, black socks with GC embroidered in (preferably nice enough to wear with a suit). For the full pun, I guess there could actually be a tube sock version? Or does that violate the same things that YT and the Rusty plushies violated?
Socks made out of gelatin?
That sounds like the brand name stuff. I’m more thinking a Genuine Imitation version.
Legal issues aside, the short answer is: I don’t have a large enough audience to warrant investing in merchandise. I still have several dozen Rusty plushes left, my PDFs have sold less than 40 copies combined, and when I post an update on Twitter, I get under 20 likes. Even daily visits are at a five-year low.
I’m my own biggest fan, and Rusty & Co. has always been a labor of love, not profit… but the honest truth is that I just don’t have the numbers to justify the cost of merchandise. Maybe one day I’ll go viral or something and reach those numbers, but at the moment, I’m not at that point.
That’s more than fair. I appreciate the labour of love, and hope that you and yours are doing well.

Derek speculated that the enemy forces, whoever they really are, already know that the Princess is a fake since they haven’t tried to assassinate her. This is probably their play to expose her.

I can just see the princess screaming in the background “Must resist urge to throw him to the moon.”
Perhaps that will encourage her to stay and princess, seeing how badly it’s done in her absence.
Perhaps the “Princess” should treat Malevolus to a “song” she’s been practicing while listening to heavy death metal? A real screamer called “GET THE HELLS OUT OF MY CASTLE!”
