Whatever exactly happened to Grawlf, I hope we will get an explanation at some point in the furrture.
Also, the white knights are always nice guys, even if they are actually a fungi-zombie who just ‘guise nice. But honestly, I hope this arc will result in the return of the Night Wight. Or at least that the White Knight will get a plastic surgery.

That is some smooth fungus infesting Whitey’s brain. What if there’s a cordyceps apocalypse, only afterwards, we’re just all better at pickup lines?

(I guess there already is such a thing. Toxoplasmosis parasite infects human brains and…makes us be nicer to cats.)

Well… I mean… really… it only makes sense. If the fungus needs to get closer to people to infect them, which works best? Horrifying shrieks, a shambling run, and constant biting? Or smooth talking and a disarming smile while being a decent person?

Now I want to see a zombie apocalyspe where the zombies are all smiling happy people going about their lives and the still uninfected are paranoid @ssh0les barely able to stand the presence of one another…

Wait, we already had Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I feel like Zone of Truth would be very good yet also very bad for therapy.

      Especially for group therapy.

So wait, where is this Zone of Truth? Is it anchored in the interrogation room, or does it move with Dorilys? The first panel makes it look like the latter, but the last panel makes it look like the former. Surely the zone can’t be powerful enough to cover the entire castle.

Probably anchored where Dorilys slammed the table…?

The closed door stopped the magic from expanding, but it seems like the magic leaked outside as the door was opened- last page shows the green particles going outside on the swing of the door.

It kinda feels like it’s not actually an anchored magic, to be honest- it seems more like the initial slam dispersed magic ‘Zone of Truth’ particles, and those particles are what causes everyone to say the truth.

It’s an emanation, so it’s everything within 20 feet of and with line of effect to the point of origin (probably where she touched the table). So, while the door is open, it’ll extend out into the hallway.

Did Grawlf wiggle out of going? What will Dorilys realize from that? Or better yet, our cleric of Knowledge deduce?

I’m going to guess something about how cube doesn’t need to wear clothes

But Cube is wearing clothes at the moment.

She’s gotten this far in what she’s got on?

Something about needing to change pants? Or a second change of pants?
Maybe something about the effect of magical garb?

At least Soft Tail is upfront about wasting Derek’s time.

I find it surprising how unconcerned Derek seems to be about this entire affair. Next he’ll be offering them a cup of coffee and a cookie. I know he’s (a) capital-G-Good and (b) rather powerful, but I don’t quite understand why he is so extremely nonchalant about what looks like a well-planned multi-pronged invasion of the castle.

… unless he somehow already knows about everything, perhaps via his penchant for divination. In that case, what’s his game? Does he want to turn the Derro, maybe?

His divinations aren’t exactly complete and reliable. Perhaps he has a general sense things will work out, but not how.

Acting unimpressed is probably the BEST way to get Soft Tail to talk. Because “I’m impressive, dammit! What will it take for you to see how impressive I am!”

He associates with Dorilys. He probably is used to the notion that whatever will be, will be.

And if it won’t, she’ll fix that.

Kinda wondering if there is a triple-cross in Growlf’s future. Dramatic irony is a great way to hide twists in plain sight, we think we know everything just because we know what another character doesn’t. Perhaps he has another reason to not go along, although Alt-text did out him as evil now.
