Chickens have the perfect right to cross the road without having their motives questioned.

Do people ask why you cross the road every time you do it?

Ah, the old ‘Chekhov’s Vault’ trick. It’s a good place to keep a Plot Artifact.

Stabs, you routinely carry multiple times your body weight in pointy metal. How heavy can it be!

Yeah, that’s the problem. In order to handle any significant additional weight, she would first have to put down her daggers, and that’s obviously not an option.

How is that a problem? They’re locked in a vault!

As we’ve seen, this particular vault has a poor track record of keeping the things put in it inside while the owner’s not looking.

It is hard to be mad at Horty given how easy they made it for him. Also that winning smile.

Well, they should have no trouble getting out of this – the plan practically writes itself.

First, they disguise themselves as simple, unassuming pieces of furniture…

Use of any explosive is contra-indicated. Unless they can shield themselves from the lethal overpressure.
They are in a small boxlike area.

There is another proceedure that can work, since they are on the inside.

Counterpoint: Anti-Madeline is kind of dumb.

I wonder how much control Tarta has over her powers. Only her snake shift seemed to happen deliberately. Everything else has been an emotional response.
