When you roll a natural 20 on your Bluff check …

I’m not sure you need that big score on THESE.

Weeeell, creatures of lower intelligence are likely to default to what they know and reject new input. You do need to be persuasive to get past that.

Good thing that Mimic was able to wiggle into their prior knowledge

With some people, a 2 is all you need.

Mimic is really much better at adventuring than people give him credit for. He’s using his gifts in a flexible and creative manner. ^_^

Well, when you lack HANDS you pretty much HAVE to min-max your bluff/stealth/etc.

You know, Stabs has a point (okay, another one) – for a black market to be located in a place hostile to outsiders, is pretty stupid.

I mean, that can’t be good for the turnover …

I mean, not necessarily? The group wasn’t given directions by their best friend, so there may be a way to get in that lets the locals know you belong. For all we know, they could have been given the directions to the ‘murderhobo’ entrance, not the ‘surreptitious businessman’ entrance.

Life is full of tradeoffs. They don’t want Madeline to find them, for instance. (Her unavailability being only temporary.)

I expect to see the Flying Fish Guys somewhere and bartender named Ivar … a Seattle guppie

That fishman looks awfully handsome in panel one. Too bad about his profile.

Seattle, eh? I wonder if we’ll see any coastal wizards.

As a Washingtonian, I did indeed notice my city in the text and was scrutinizing it to see, “am I reading it wrong?”, but read it 20 times to see that it is, indeed, Seattle.
