Dimension travelers bringing Earth tech into fantasy realms is quite a long-running tradition. Heck, Robert Asprin started out his Aahz & Skeeve books with the rather brilliant notion of A) pointing out the anachronisms, B) explaining them, and C) exploiting them for comedy. And that started in, what, 1979? There are probably even earlier examples that I just can’t think of.

Of course, we can’t do that in D&D because our PCs will somehow destroy entire cities through accidental misuse of Silly Putty. Alas!

what do you mean ‘accidental misuse’? more like deliberate abuse, knowing PCs

I think it’s a long-running tradition in D&D, too. As I recall, Tyr in the Forgotten Realms is in fact the same as the Norse god from Earth due to one of Ed Greenwood’s little conceits.

Is this a shirt? I would seriously consider buying a shirt that said “eyePod”

There isn’t an eyePod, but OffWorldDesigns had a Cthulhu “cephaloPod” shirt for a while. They might still have some in the discount section.

How exactly would Apple monetize an extradimensional audience, I wonder. Just think what it would do to the exchange rate on the dollar if the company were selling Terrestrial luxury goods for fictional gold pieces.

Isn’t there at least one major greyhawk guy who, in the official adventures, uses real fantasy monsters and adventurers to make films for our earth or somesuch…?

I think you’re thinking of one of the residents of ‘Castle Greyhawk’, which was a one-off joke module. There was a movie being filmed on one level – just below the level where crazed Trekkies were fighting golem-crafting pastry chefs, I believe. The module was eventually declared ‘outside canon’: most adventurers would proclaim, “Let us not go to Castle Greyhawk: it is a silly place.”
