    Now that you’ve brought it up, I must admit I’m amazed TSR/WOTC never regaled us with a monster manual supplement detailing different strains of bacteria.

    I mean, at least a Bacteria, Giant. You can almost see it with the naked eye!

      Hmmm, I suppose an argument could almost be made for certain oozes and similar critters reminiscent of the Blob movies to be supersized bacteria….

      I don’t know about WOTC, but Pathfinder does actually have a giant amoeba:

    Oh, dear. Only 100% magnification… That’s quite a large group of were-bacteria.

      *”those are quite large bacteria in that group.” The group itself appears to be rather small.

      100x = 10,000%.

      Still pretty big bacteria. Visible to the naked eye, I would think.

    Well now I just want to make a campaign where the party has to stop a plague of Half-Dragon Smallpox… Also possibly mess with the occasional portrayal of undead types being microbe sourced by making Vampire Vampirism.

    Does this mean their immune systems have adventuring classes? Do they have to level grind against weaker germs to build up the strength to fight the more dangerous ones?

    Actually, come to think of it, that’s kind of how immune systems already work.
