You know, the Grinner is easily the most intelligent and capable villain to date, both in planning and personal combat. I’m actually somewhat concerned for a TPK here.
Not hugely, heroes and action comedy etc, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this adventure doesn’t have at least some sort of loss.
Agreed. Grinner’s ridiculous genre savviness is reflected in his comment. He expected the derro to fail. Which likely means our heroes are still falling for his ultimate plan.
Well, you know what they say about there being a fine line between courage and foolishness, one might say the same goes for their opposites. Not fighting Cube is a pretty smart decision all by itself if you ask me.
TPK seems unlikely to me; Grinner beat them pretty badly at the end of the last chapter, it wouldn’t feel right for him to do it again. Likewise, they’ve already had the big loss against him.

Nice little parallel response.
Though I think Grinner underestimated Roxy even after fighting her.
for some strange reason I don’t doubt that maddy was in that pose the whole time…
I guess the rhino-juggler combination backfired on everyone invloved.
Grinner’s got a backpack fulla dynamite?
Made me remember King of Fighters for some weird reason. Totally visualised a VS. between Maddie and Grinner, with the others on background.
Now that’s a classic case of Rhinus Interruptus, resulting in Catastrophic Spherical Disjunction.
I’m honestly surprised it took this long for it to count as an EXPLOSION. How many rounds do you think they’ve been gone so far???
Rhino to the face. Gets em every time!

Xanatos Gambit, for sure. However, knowing our Illustr(ated)ious Adventurers, maybe a Gambit Pileup will ensue?
Blech – Format Fail.
“1d4 Wisdom damage, go and sit in the Maze spell for 10 minutes and think about what you’ve done.”
I think Malevolus is the smartest villain we’ve seen thus far. Grinner’s got him beat on tenacity though.
Well the good Sir is more… rampaging coward than smart, per say. Still, point taken =)

Slobber doesn’t seem in any hurry to finish his tea. Though I’m impressed at how elegantly he’s holding that tiny teacup.
He drinks it by only dipping his tongue into the cup.
This story is getting in tents!
I enjoyed this pun.
Forget the explosions, where can I get my hands on a plushie bulette and why don’t I already possess one?!
It’s good to be on the cutting horn of technology.
He was expecting an explosion and decided to carry the dynamite in his BACKPACK?!
He must be very confident in his plan if he trusts the explosion not to be anywhere near him.
Bulette, Owlbear, and – what’s the green one? I think it’s a Xorn. And the next booth has a … Carrion crawler? And I think the orange one’s a Ravid.
I think what we’re seeing is a grick.
AGH…
Just finished the archive binge…
One update per week… it’s gonna be painful ^^;;;
Just be glad you got here before the lawsuit.
After, that is.
that pug is oh so loveable
Oh, I get it. “Go for the juggler”
