      What’s worse, so can Stabs.

What’s even worse is that they can’t blow up the candy. . . .

So in Panel 5, the minions clearly lose their hats yet in Panel 7, they are clearly commenting on their boss’s “change of heart”. Therefore, I can only conclude that the villains must all be animated objects who’re mind controlling people.

    And. Its. AWESOME!

Evil mind-controlling hats! Just like in Meet the Robinsons. And Starcross (by Philip Reeve).

Or else they could be boomerang hats, which conveniently land back on their wearers’ heads after being knocked off.

Or that episode of Darkwing Duck where the hats were actually space aliens that controlled your body when you put them on

I haven’t seen that episode, but that’s the same as the plot of Starcross. 😀

I am always kind of amazed when I find anybody besides me who’s read those books.

Could just mean that any plan where you lose your hat is a bad plan.

A dagger weighs 1 pound by 3rd edition rules. From the packet she stole, we know they think she’s 120 pounds… Standard weight for a halfling in 3rd is 30 to 35 pounds… so 120 minus 30 at minimum weight gives us 90 pounds worth of daggers… which seems both excessive if she’s living up to her name and understrength if she’s always throwing them. Given Stabs is apparently heavy enough that it takes two druegar to carry her, I’m guessing she might have even more than that stashed in bags of holding or other similar magic items. Oh yeah, and a good chunk of loot.

Blame just ending my work week for me deciding to play with Math after rereading the pages where she stole the info.

Ah, but weapons for small-sized creatures are at half weight, so it’s actually 180 daggers. (And that’s if they’re being accurate, and if she does weigh the bare minimum of 30 pounds. She actually does look a little heavy to me.)

Still, throwing weapons deal damage based on strength, and Halflings get further bonuses, feats, and racial reasons to throw weapons rather than use them in melee. It’s far from being out of the question.

        Actually, 82. See here:

Or is it that she’s carrying both knives and daggers?

I did the same calculations after the comic where the 120lb figure was given, and it’s possible, if unlikely – assuming she’s 40lb (she’s stocky for a halfling), that leaves 80lb, which is a light load for a small creature, but only if she has 18 Strength or better.

Problem is, for all that weight to actually count, she can’t be keeping them in an a bag of holding or other extradimensional space. She has to have around 160 small daggers tucked away in her clothing, and that would be terribly hard to conceal. In fact, her body is probably surrounded with enough steel to qualify as at least medium armor… a halfling-sized suit of full plate would only weigh 25lb..

Problem is, that means she’s carrying nearly 3 times her own body weight in knives, without stashing them in an extradimensional space where they’d be weightless. And that’s possible (if she has Strength 19)

Well, the Bag of Holding itself does have a set weight. a 15 pound bag can hold 250 pounds, a 25 holds 500, 35 holds 1000, and 60 holds 1500. So if Stabs has bags of holding for pockets those Derro (sorry, forgot the exact name in my first post, doh!) could be carrying enough weaponry to outfit an army. Assuming the second largest size for each pocket she’s got visible we’ve got 40 pounds for Stabs herself and 70 with both pockets, leaving 10 left over for the easily found daggers, which is still 20 based on your comments on the weight of halfling size daggers. So 20 out of bags, 4000 max in pockets if we assume nothing else in the bags with them. Now wonder those Derro are having trouble carrying her.

      Nitpick: They’re Derro not Duergars.

I’ve never yet had cotton candy mentioned in a game and not ended up seeing it used offensively somehow. Nice to know that’s not unique to my group!

Do you have any idea how inefficient it is to store cotton candy when it’s all fluffed up? it’s more efficient to vacuum out all the air and let it puff out at the desired location

But how would they get it out/move it when they need it without getting squished (yes I know I’m commenting on a 10 year old post)
