“Defend the creature”, not “kill the Bullywugs”. Defending, Derek can do. Just ask Stabs and her cousins. Interesting that Oozanka is key to preventing interdimendional horrors from entering their reality, though.
That reminds me: You know how there’s a Zone of Truth spell that compels those within it to tell the truth? Could there be a Zone of Pacifism or Zone of Peace spell that likewise discourages violent impulses in favor of civility and reason?
Argh, I’m losing track of who’s who – the cast page only has first names for a lot of the characters, and when Zar is talking to / about multiple people in one go, I actually don’t know who’s who.
If it helps, the half-elf is taking the original three to see the elves. Our wizard seems to be alone. I’m going with ‘everyone else’ defending the castle.
Roxy is not a half-elf. She is full elf raised by humans. A porcupine…pointy on top, round on the bottom…and as mimic can attest…a lovely round bottom it is!
Prestige Perkins
Derek Hyssop
Madeline Goodlaw
Dorilys Happ
“Stabs” Doogan
Robespierre (Zar improvs a last name for Rusty, but not Petey?)
Roxanne Casbaugh
Boxford “Mimic”
Rusty “Russell”
Cube
Dunno, Casbaugh doesn’t sound particularly elvish to me. In fact, as a non-native English speaker, I’m not even sure what it sounds like. ‘Kasbaff’? ‘Kasbo’? In any case, it’s missing the obligatory ‘-iel’ or ‘-eth’ markings of elven provenance. 😉
The name Roxy Casbaugh is a pun on the song “Rock the Casbah” by The Clash. The “augh” would be pronounced as it is in “caught” or the way one might shout “AUGH!” when clubbed by Robespierre.
It’s seeing the “Miss” that makes it clear. Until then, only happenstance would happen to make you happy with the knowledge, perhaps. Such things are haphazard.
Actually, why will the bullywugs still try to kill Oozanka? She’s not guarding the rift anymore, since the castle became a golem and moved away from it.

No one said saving the universe would be easy!
At least Presti is happy
“We’re going to see Elves !!” *looks in mirror* “oh…”
Now, remember the baseball episode. Dorilys might actually skip some of the grief Roxy will get.
Exposing the Creminions aggravates it because it makes them look bad.
That and that Roxy was adopted and raised by human barbarians. https://rustyandco.com/comic/level-3-21/
The elves don’t like her,
Roxie Casbaugh!
Roxie Casbaugh!
Think she’s a piliniyaro,
Roxie Casbaugh!
Roxie Casbaugh!
“Mr. Russell? That’s my father…!”
He didn’t object in the Circus episode.
Welp, goodbye to all the secondary characters except Roxy for a while.
Or we’re getting another three parter.
At that, he did not include the Princess in any of those groups.
Guess he’s not quite comfortable ordering her around after the last page.
After last page, I would be more worried about her thinking that she’s omitted in retaliation.
“You, Princess, will be the trump card we play should any of these three plans go wrong.”
“Can’t we talk to the bullywugs?” – “You can. Now, after that fails, …”
I mean, you gotta wonder why Zar would send Derek to hurt living creatures.
Low on alternatives? It would probably be unwise for Dorilys and Roxy to switch because their talents are so different.
“Defend the creature”, not “kill the Bullywugs”. Defending, Derek can do. Just ask Stabs and her cousins. Interesting that Oozanka is key to preventing interdimendional horrors from entering their reality, though.
Well, she was sitting on the rift and no one noticed it until she was moved off.
OTOH, after that set-up, it would be very funny if Derek does succeed.
That reminds me: You know how there’s a Zone of Truth spell that compels those within it to tell the truth? Could there be a Zone of Pacifism or Zone of Peace spell that likewise discourages violent impulses in favor of civility and reason?
Zone of Peace? For a combat game like D&D? It’d never catch on…
Alright, time for some Roxy backstory. And to get annoyed by some arrogant elves.
Soon, we’ll know whether Rue Lily was the exception or the rule. And if she’s the exception, is she exceptionally *mean* by elf standards…or *nice*?
Perhaps we will meet the elf who used glitter pen to learn if she would pass.
Love how expressive Roxy’s ears are. Kinda remind me of my pup when he finds out we’re about to go to the vet…

Robespierre may be his last name, or it may be a mononym and he simply doesn’t have a last name.
Rusty is a mononym. Hence the improv.
Now I’m wondering why he’s not “Mr Casbaugh”, if he’s Roxy’s (adopted) brother?
Casbaugh may be her birth family name, not all adoptees take on the names of their new families, it’s tradition to, but not required.
Although… Robby Casbaugh…its possible…

Rob D. Casbaugh ?
Eh, pseudo-medieval. Perhaps they are all bynames. It would tone down the coincidental aspects for Derek and Dorilys
Stabitha Doogan, since we’re doing full names.
Oh. My. God. Dorilys, the luck cleric, is “Miss Happ.” How did I just get that? ?
Just bad luck, I suppose. 0:)
Someone did notice in the comments section a few strips back, but since no one but Zar calls her Miss Happ it wasn’t obvious before.
She may be called Miss Happ, but on the plus side, she causes a lot of her namesake Happ-y Coincidences.
Happ-enstance, no doubt.
Princess also called her Happ: level-8-172
🙂
(Also, the cast page uses her fuil name, as did the polls.)
It’s seeing the “Miss” that makes it clear. Until then, only happenstance would happen to make you happy with the knowledge, perhaps. Such things are haphazard.
You’re not the only one, I came here to post just that comment myself!
Actually, why will the bullywugs still try to kill Oozanka? She’s not guarding the rift anymore, since the castle became a golem and moved away from it.
She might still be key in closing or ‘sealing’ the rift. Or because it was their previous orders.
Maybe she’s some kind of extradimensional ooze that can literally mend the rifts?
If she could mend them, it would have been mended while she was there. That she can stop it up seems very probable.
