The way the characters buy in to their themes in this comic is hilarious. The Derros were running the Circus first, fighting Adventurers second. Similarly, Antropas here is still in full Hotelier mode, even when things are falling apart. This sort of thing just tickles me. 🙂
I’m increasingly suspecting that Mike is going to flip our expectations and the “beast” that gets stabbed with steely knives won’t end up being Rusty, simply because that’s what we’ve been expecting all along. My bet is on the Myrmarch.
Did you stay “stabbed with steely knifes”?
(Right, I forget that part of the song)
Oooh, I may have got some insight of what may come next.
No, not the Myrmach. The next verse is “But they just can’t kill the beast”, so I would expect the knifing to be inefficient.
On another topic, so we have a snake woman with a roasted turkey in one hand and a souls-of-the-dead-powered artefact in the other. That’s not something you often see.

… does she actually want that turkey or just that knife?
Don’t you mean the holy sword, Excalibur?
It took me several days to realize you were making a joke on Madeline‘s running gag, even though the narrative focus was on Yuan-Tiffany.
Steely knives time!
Yes?
There’s also the possibility that it was a distraction.
It occurs to me that this isn’t the first time Y.T. solved her problems with a creative food order.
Excellent memory Milo.
She sniffed the note in panel 1. Maybe that gave her some clue that led to ordering the turkey.

TDBNTR is an acronym I don’t recognise. Mike, care to shed some light on this?
Read alternate text
They may be evil, but they take customer service seriously.
The problem is when they want to serve the customers.
That was some speedy service! Also, Y.T.’s using proper names now. 🙂
When trying to cajole someone, that helps.

Will YT animate and army of Zombie poultry for back-up? I hope so!
She might, as that would be fowl play.
So we’ll never see YT again. Remember the last verse.
I like the little tongue-flick of concentration in panel 1.
“I sssmell a rat here.”
“I know. Like I said, it’s always a trap.”
“No, an actual rat. Ssshe ssscented thisss invitation to make me hungry.”
Can you raise an undead turkey? And if so will stabbing it with steely knives kill it?
Well, you can braise one and hope that has much the same effect.
You’re basted!
One possibility, YT will shove the artifact into the turkey, then swallow the turkey whole. And she will keep the steely knife of course.
And she will name it Daniel.
considering the origin of ‘steely dan’ she wouldn’t necessarily be swallowing it…..
