1st thought: at least he didn’t take out a load bearing wall
2nd thought: Is he going outside to grab some weaponry so he can bust down the door in a Barbarian Rage and try to kill everyone?
3rd thought: It appears Stabs put a space between the inner and outer walls of her establishment, is that a place to stash loot or to have family members listen in on conversations and learn secrets????
He took out at least two studs in the wall. Even if it’s not load bearing, that’s still not a good thing for everyone in that part of the establishment.
The wall of the inn/bar is not hollow. What we are seeing are inner and outer facings, with the space in between filled with rubble, for insulation, and some wooden beams for structural reinforcement.
Off in the distance, we see a vague image of what appears to be another wall that has just been “barbarized” by being walked through. It’s far enough away that it is almost certainly the next building over. Otherwise, this building would have a wall that contains a 15-20 foot wide empty space. Possible but unlikely.
One fears that the entire neighborhood may well need structural repairs before this is over.
Potentially a wooden frame building with some form of slats and plasterwork with the gap filled as you said and for the same reason, maybe?
I think the far wall could be as close as 10′ or less easily and is almost certainly as you say. Not all that uncommon prior to the industrial age within a city.
I believe the term you’re looking for is lathe and plaster. it was the common way of building internal walls up until the invention of plaster board. heck in some areas it was still common up until quite recently (my parents house still had it until we stripped it and replaced it all with board)
15-20 foot means that the wall he went through was probably an interior wall, and that’s a room he’s crossed before going through the next wall. Which, if they’re lucky, will be an exterior wall.
I’m loving his ‘Barbarian’-spin on how to be a gentleman.

(because one of them is my dear half-sister)
…but I’ll do it in a way that clearly shows how unhappy I am!”
Rage Doorway. Must have destructive rage and be able to do enough damage to make a hole. If used against any wall spell, the doorway will persist for the duration of the spell. A further spell can seal the doorway.

Crawl space for the maintenance wizards to recast dancing lights and mending? Or perhaps that’s the next building over.
My thoughts:
Panel 2: Whelp, she’s dead.
Panel 3: Or not?
Panel 5: He handled that surprisingly well.

Having a space between the walls is actually better for insulation, as long as the air isn’t moving, it will prevent heat from flowing in and out.

Slats is the term I grew up with, but I think “lathe and plaster” is likely more correct. 😀

Looks like the Proverbial Hook has a new side entrance.
Hah! The little party hat drifting down in the last panel is a very nice touch!
Barbarian no need door. Barbarian MAKE door.
Passwall, barbarian style.
Would this be the ‘Barbarian’-version of ‘noclip_mode’…?
Ladies and Gentlemen, the barbarian has left the building…
“Thankeww – Thankewverramuch”
When a Barbarian wants to leave through the door… the “door” is where he wants it to be.

That… went a lot better than I thought it would
Please tell me I’m not the only one that laughed at the continuity nod to the confused lady with the swirly-straw still in her mouth…
