Fast Talk (Ex): At 2nd level, the evangelist knows the right thing to say at the right time. He may make a rushed Diplomacy check as a full-round action at only a —5 penalty.
That the path to spiritual enlightenment lies in affecting a Bronx accent? (At least I think that’s what his diction implies, at least in the early strips. I’m not an expert in regional dialects, but this one seems distinctly New-Yorkish to me.)
If by “rust” you mean oxidize, then while gold does not naturally oxidize, there are certain oxidizers (such as chlorine triflouride) that are better oxidizers than oxygen. So if we assume rust monsters’ magical rusting capability can capable of the greatest oxidation, then Rusty should be able to rust nearly any metal.
What do you mean, nearly? You can oxidize Chloride to Cl 7+, damnit! And that even though Chloride is one of the few elements with bigger electronegativity than oxygen (the other being fluoride).
I don’t think the trophy means anything to Robespierre (other than melt-down cash value). After all, he’s in the game because it was court ordered and because it was free reign to legally commit as much mayhem as his little barbarian heart desires.

With motivational speaking like that, I get the feeling Mimic’s been taking levels in Diplomancer.
I was thinking more Evangelist…

But what doctrine would he be spouting?
“But what doctrine would he be spouting?”

He could specialize into Televangelist. Then he could spout whatever doctrine would fit the occasion.
Oh man, look at all that drool coming from Rusty’s mouth. He’s like a starving person walking into an “All you can eat” buffet.
I take it gold is tastier than most metals.
It’s a gilty pleasure.
You just couldn’t leaf that alone, could you?
It was pretty Auful.
Midas well just let them have their fun.
It probably is, but I don’t carat all.
Robespierre is using his intimidate skill, i.e. bullion tactics
It’s a bit rich…
I think Rusty prefer volume to precise ingredients.
eat saw?
So cute! ????????Just one question though: How on earth will he hold the bat? [:S] [:P]
His antenna thingies. The bats are wood.
Not much power behind his swing, then. [:P]
Also, I have no idea where all those question marks came from. [:S]
He doesn’t have to swing. Can you imagine his strike zone? The ball is larger than it is!
Those feelers are tougher than they look; when Maddie went over the cliff, Rusty caught her with one. Sure, it looked like it hurt, but he didn’t drop her.
“*gasp* EAT TROPHY!”
Wait… can gold rust?
No. Doesn’t stop Rust Monsters from eating it though.
Rusty has already eaten a gold golem (except for the head, which he saved for the princess).
Keep him away from Rob’s lawyer….
they prefer ferrous stuff but they can eat any metal

There are trolls and talking boxes, and you guys are worried about what metals decompose? [:P] It’s fantasy, normal rules of physics don’t apply. [:P]
Ah, but that’s mundane oxygen. Remember what Mimic warned us about with bacteria? Suppose it’s dire oxygen.
“I love the taste of trophy in the morning. Tastes like… victory.”
“…and that’s when I heard the angels sing!”
Congradurtion…for that you win the internet.(I only had one congraduration lying around): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV6bGtGDK2c
eat helicopters?
I feel like Robbespierre is lying.
I don’t think the trophy means anything to Robespierre (other than melt-down cash value). After all, he’s in the game because it was court ordered and because it was free reign to legally commit as much mayhem as his little barbarian heart desires.
Hey! Rusty isn’t stupid he’s just very goal oriented. And his goal happens to be “eat yummy metals!”
Breakfast of champions… Literally
He’s staring like I would if it were actually foil-wrapped chocolate. I’d let Rusty have the foil, of course.
Wouldn’t Rusty eating the ball count as getting hit by the pitch, or are the rules for that different in gnomish baseball?
I imagine there are rules against TRYING to get hit by the pitch (which would include lunging to swallow the ball) in both human and gnomish baseball…
Why would he eat the ball? All that leather and stitching? Blecch!
‘cept that the ball looks to be a metal sphere with spikes on previous pages.
Oh sure, bring up little details like “it’s not a normal baseball”…
“Psst! Don’t eat the ball! It’s spiked!”
“Helping Robespierre win tournament” seems AUfully open-ended to me…Rusty might have his own ideas of how to “help” with that.
At first I thought this was a typo,
but then I glanced at an elemental table…
^.^
Did Grinner lose even more of these crystals?
Mimic is doing a thourough job of reminding everyone he doesn’t have eyes. I’m sure this’ll come up in the future.
Wot – facing down a medusa in a later match (or even a higher level)?
Question is: If Mimic grew back his eye, would the Medusa’s stare affect him?
That’d be a nice twist.
Aw, with the recent website changes, the position of the GIFs all messed up.
Fixed, thanks.
