Stilettos with only ONE point are only fit for twicelings.
Stabitha prefers her stilettos to have DOZENS of teeny-tiny points.
With every step, she STABS dozens-upon-dozens of “wounds” into the earth…
… & in return, she’s given traction.
Well, this just goes to show that the studies are true.
Four out of five T-Rexes prefer the taste of Rusty and Co. T-Rex Chow to Halflings, so much so that they’ll stop the chase when they hear the bag open!
Am I the 1st to notice that there’s only one baseline visible in Panels 3-thru-7?
This implies that Stabitha is running the bases in a CLOCKWISE direction, which is the opposite of what’s done in human baseball.
From this viewing-angle, the baseline of the other side of the diamond should be visible in the distance, & Dorilys would then be seen as standing INSIDE the diamond, instead of OUTSIDE it, as a ref should.
well considering they’ve made references to “left first base” and “right first base” it seems safe to assume this is another way gnomish baseball is different from human baseball.
also is dory a ref? she’s not dressed like the actual refs.

I wondered about that too …

(Also, irony that my CAPTCHA Code is “9TBT”, a bit of an unintentional reference to “Throw-Back Thursday!” (For those reading this in the future, the day I’m posting this is a Thursday, and I’m throwing in a “throw-back” reference to an older page!))

Yes, & it seriously pissed her off too. Almost as though he had taken physical “liberties” with her person.
I’d imagine that she doesn’t trust ANYONE to employ her “gift” in a responsible, trustworthy manner, except herself.
ESPECIALLY not a “monster”-class of player-character, no matter how sincerely it claims to be trying to “Do Good”!
Well, let us say that you can have a thunderstorm. That’s chaotic. And it can be steered by the wind, and lightning has certain tendencies. You might not know where the bolt hits (unless you’re really good) but you’ll know, for example, that after it does there’s thunder. Where chaos ends and order begins can be subjective.
If you think back to Malevolus’ capture, she uses a chain of events and gets exactly the result she wants. My feeling is that whatever it is, it’s some kind of Probability-based Wish. And it probably has rules! It has to be funny, if you’re into slapstick. It could happen by accident, though if you were to see that happen a few times you’d realise that something is going on. It doesn’t violate any physical laws, it works with them. And it the power is triggered by someone else then all bets are off.
The real question is if this is some sort of Divine Blessing, or a pact with a demon that eats probabilities, or something like a Vow of Nonviolence – and what the cost is to her if she is caught off guard and doesn’t realise she’s triggering this…
Mimic’s mouth is the mouth of the shoe? That means that during that time Mimic was being run on while having a mouthful of hairy halfling foot. Now that’s dedication to the team

Honestly, I don´t get it. Probably have to wait till the other shoe drops…
You’d think Stabs would be wearing stiletto heels, but no…
Stilettos yes…heels, not so much
Stabs wears quality Stilletos made with cutting edge technology.
She looks so good, you won’t really mind the pain…

Mimic’s a shoe in for player of the year.
That’s actually pretty good. It’s funny, which puns usually aren’t. 🙂
You mean her stilettos are divided into fractions to get traction?
[TGY]:
Yep.
Her stilettos employ “Fraction Traction Friction” technology — (Pat. Pending)
This is like a multi-panel, multi-week unfolding of a Mouse Trap (by Ideal!) game. Or possibly Hungry, Hungry T-Rex.
And here once again, Kiddos, we see the importance of Punctuation!
“I’msorry! Thiswasn’tmyidea!” is not the same as “I’msorry[that]thiswasn’tmyidea!”

Did NOT see that coming! 😆
Neither did either the dino or Dorilys!

[Carbide]:
Technically, no, but as part of Security, there’s a lot of “overlap”.
I like that the shoe’s tongue is in the right place.
Mimic’s likely glad that Stabs was wearing him; had it been Robespiere, those massive, steely feet would have crushed Mimic’s soul
So… does this mean Mimic was sucking on Stab’s foot? O.o
“Whatever gets you through the night…it’s all right.”
Oh dear… someone has triggered the Dorilys effect again. I’m starting to think that she’s a disguised chaos-butterfly…

Actually, don’t forget that Mimic triggered Dorilys’s “gift” once!

She clearly said that the time that Mimic hadn’t realized what he did.
There’s a difference between ‘directed’ and ‘steered’. It’s subtle, but important.
[Targ Collective]:
I totally Agree.
But still, neither is anywhere NEAR to being the same as “Chaotic”, so I believe my original point still stands.

I still think she’s a cleric worshiping Rube Goldberg.

He has to foot the bill somehow. At least this way it’s tasteful.
That title-text took me a moment! XD
I love how the opening behind the T-Rex in the last panel makes it look like he’s wearing an old-style football helmet.
Obviously not Mimic, you surely wouldn’t come up with a plan that had ONLY you disguised! And forced you to have Stabbs foot in your mouth too!
This is how sneakers got their name.
