Hes a slow learner, that’s for sure. You’d think after his last encounter with anti-Maddie and her fondness for explosions, he’d have hidden in the furthest corner of the cell when he saw her holding a match…
In the illithid mansion he did figure out his prospects pretty quickly.
Just not his best day. Or he’s still a bit dazed from the previous assault on his ears.
Just one thought I had… did anything happened to Anti-Madeleine while Madeleine was, you know, dead and un-raised? She’s an entirely independent lifeform as of now? Or did she fizzed out of existence during the, uh… downtime?
swapping the clerics focus for a divination… that fancy fop plans for everything.
i wonder if anti-Madeline knows to avoid looking directly at the magic 8-ball or is she immune?
I know, right? I mean, come on – it’s got the same root as the word “malicious” or “malevolent,” it’s a pun on Madeline’s name, and it rhymes with “Paladin” which Madeline was going to become and Maladine here is about as far from as one tiny incarnation of evil can be. It’s clever.
I think it’s nice to see the “helping US” in there. I like these two (three? with the fairy?), they make a funny party, its good to see that they (sorta) think of themselves as a group by now.

Swapping Derek’s 8-ball for this one, I take it.
No, she takes it. You just watch.
Eight ball says “Try again later.”
Not the sharpest stick in the barrel is he?
Bunners
He fluffed his roll.
He can do pretty well when the dice gods do not frown on him.
Well, intelligence is not a prerequisite for paladins or anti-paladins (or barbarians or …)
I think this would be a Wisdom check by way of Perception, but your statement still applies.

Looks like anti-Madeline got her cake recipe from the anarchist cookbook.
She didn’t blow up herself yet.
she’s gonna swap a nonmagical 8 for a ….
nonmagical 8?

She was an “entirely independent lifeform” as soon as she was created. I highly doubt anything happened to her during Maddie’s… downtime.
Anti-Madeline has a good candle of this situation.
She really knows how to stick it to him.
Then again, he makes it be a piece of cake.
Looks like he can’t have his cake or eat it too
Soooo…. in the first panel, we have Anti-Madeline Monroe, huh? ^.^
(Hopefully this doesn’t mean that Anti-Madeline is going to be gone in less than 3 months!!!…)
I think she got all of Madelyn’s smarts, and concentrated them. (Possibly her sense of humor, too.)
Lead lined icing?
I suppose we should be relieved (and a little surprised) that neither of the Doogan boys tried sampling that cake…
“That’s not a candle”, reminds me of a quote from Serenity.
Inara Serra: “And that’s not incense.”

So we’re back to calling her Anti-Madeline instead of Maladine? I loved that suggestion someone made.

Madelines Wee Dark Side was especially noticeably jaundiced, this page—or, at any rate, this is when I first noted her tone.
I love AntiMadder’s line in the first panel! Gotta steal that joke for the future in some campaign, somewhen…
