Free? I think it is more like swift action. And no one can have so many swift actions in one round, unless it is some custom magic item “bag of fuse lightening”.
I’m wondering the same thing! Of course, Cube’s tied up, Presti might still be rather stuck, Stabs did just take a dive, and Roxy might still be tied up with the impresario… But where’s Rusty?
Grinner was very careful not to appear before Presti was almost out of spells AND stuck in the Candy elemental. And that’s a turn of event he very carefully planned.
Of course, now that his plans are going wahoonie-shaped, all bets are off…
Still trying to figure out how all the blood smeared on the wall when Grinner hit it which his pack upside down.
I know! He was packing power, so the pack contents absorbed the blood he was leaking, but the dynamite adsorbed it, thereby allowing it to flow by and into the back of the pack itself, staining the wall. That would make more sense. Although not light on his feet, his actions certainly flicker back and forth in an explosive frenzy.

He is just having a blast at the circus.
I’m pretty sure that counts as an additional turn, and he didn’t even roll for it!
Free action to light, attack action to throw? He’s pulling a full attack, here.
Maybe a prepared quick fuse that was set up to instantly light up all the individual (slow) fuses?

You’re overthinking it. Maddie dashed, picked bomb, thats two moves.
Then she throwed. That’s definitely next turn already.
Well, we knew what Maddie would do. This answers the question of what Grinner would do.
Cue teammates doing what they would do.
Did the rest of the party flub their inititive? Does this still count as a surprise round? How come no one else is doing anything?

Being chased by Burnum for picking his nose (and eating it).
The time she takes to counter his throw gives him the time needed to light-&-throw all the rest, you see.
Don’t just stand there, Maddie – grab the strap again, & fling it all back to him!
Grinner’s pretty savvy. One stick doesn’t work? Throw ALL the sticks!
The situation cannot get more sticky 🙂
Unless they were sticky bombs
It’s time for some slap-sticks.
Wait… he was carrying all that dynamite in his backpack?
What if Presti had hit him with a fire ball or something?!?

I thought the back of Grinner’s head hit the wall over the pack, and that’s where the blood is coming from.
Dynamite will burn without exploding . . . usually.
Impact, however, is somewhat more problematic.
By serendipity, I was recently reading the TV Tropes articles on Relocating the Explosion and other Bomb Disposal stuff.

I guess cutting the fuse is out for this one. Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb.
This many explosives, only a throwing range away, and that in a cave… I don’t think he cares if he himself survives.
near lava…
(gaz + temperature should be letal in the whole cave)
clearly, proximity physic doesnt apply here
Time for some Boss Tennis?
And it’s a hot one, right over the plate!
There’s the slide and….Mimic’s safe!
It’s easy, use that “trident” to scoop them in the air and return to sender.
Some excellent Madeleine poses in this one! Love the face in panel 4
