W00t, the DM’s girlfriend (aka princess) makes her return cameo! Since the entire cast was assembled at the beginning of the chapter, I was wondering when she would make her appearance.
I’m banking on clever Roxy having just read the dossier entry for the Princess pulling a simple Disguise Self. “Do not engage. Extremely dangerous. Run!” etc.
You have a point – this is not the way Princess usually behaves – if it was REALLY her, she wouldn’t pause to make a dramatic entrance and one-liner; she’d just start whaling on goons.
Agreed, since it fits with Roxy claiming to be getting help. She certainly hasn’t had time to do that, but she *has* had time for a quick illusion as soon as she was out of sight.
Actually, no – if you look at the tent peaks behind Princess – you’ll notice that their left sides are in shade…just like Princess’ front, since she’s facing left from our view. Also there’s lights on the tents behind her, also helping the backlighting and thus silhouette.

Good Call. If this was her dramatic entrance, no reason to FULLY black her out like this. Quick thinking there.

Makes sense.
OTOH, with the number of disguise selfs cast, sooner or later one will prove not to be the spell.
Perhaps in the denouement, to be sure.

You must be a future-psychic like Roy!
So, we’ve got the pug, the bug, and the thug… Where’s the rug?
Mimic has been forcecaged, remember?
The rug is on Grinner’s head. That’s never his own hair.
*shrug*
I don’t see a lit cigarette. I dunno if that’s really the Princess…
That’s “Spglmmmrf” in Tagalog
C;mon, Rusty.. ARMOR EAT!
With all the drool on that armor, I doubt Rusty wold be able to eat it… or even want to do so.
I think that armor is some sort of stiffened hide, perhaps rhinoceros. Note how it extends below the belt.
It’s grey and shiny. I think it’s metal that should be eaten. Rusty has already shown he isn’t picky.
You know I was actually expecting Rusty to do something. I’m vaguely disappointed in the little guy.
He acted as a distraction. That’s something. With the pug after him, Roxy could get away.
I’m looking forward to a cross-genre duet.
Is it just me or does she resemble Peter Pan in that pose? Princess Pan?
Things about to get epic.
Hmm. given the projection and orientation of the silhouette, shouldn’t the princess’ dark side be lit instead? <.<
Oh, I know.. the circus has a "black light" spot aimed in her general direction.. just so happens! 😛

Not that it matters, but I’m just not seeing it.
The genre-rules of dramatic entrances mean you are always back-lit, no matter what. It’s a thing. 🙂
But is the Princess genre-savvy? O.o
Yes. It’s a class feature of the DM’s Girlfriend class.
