I can’t decide whether a gibbering mouther is the easiest monster to draw – or the hardest. I suppose if you’ve really perfected the drawing of mouths and eyes…
I’m voting harder since it’s basically just an expy of a Shogoth from Lovecraft with the crazy making and the swallowing whole and the living in antarctic climates, I don’t recall Shogoths firing flash bang spit or turning the cround soft but I’m not the best read on the expanded Mythos.
Style of cube, and cod of frog
Map of xorn, and bumps on log
Gorgon’s Pizza, and Remorhaz stings
Mimic’s snark, and favorite things
For a quest of powerful troubles
Hark to the mouther that gibbers and bubbles
Well, technically they’re abnormal, so by definition their adventures will also be abnormal. Also, Madeline’s not a token babe – this chapter FINALLY promoted her to recurring supporting character. 😉

Ah, the Proximity = Priority approach to quest management. Mimic knows his stuff.
I kinda had hoped this guy was gonna have more plot-relevance, but oh well.
In a plot about monsters acting weirdly, what could weirder than a gorgon opening a pizza joint?
One hopes that Madeline doesn’t fix that part. Good pizza joints are worth preserving.
I believe Gordy mentioned at least three things :p
But if you want something weirder then how’s about a Pheonix teaching skiing lessons? Or a ghoul handing out candy?
Or a ghoul selling cookies?
But are they Ghoul Scout cookies?
GodDAMN I want to move here.
“Plot hook! Plot hook! Wherefore art thou, Plot Hook?”
I advance the plot, therefor I am plot hook.
You want the plot? YOU WANT THE PLOT?! YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE PLOT!
Life is like a box of plots. You never know which one you’ll get. ….but you always go for the one that’s closest.
Creatures acting strangely? THIS. IS. RUSTY.COM!!!
Plot-late dice?
(summon bigger fish)
My name is Gelatinous Cubetoya. You killed my Plot Hook. Prepare to die!
??? “Why are you Plot Hook?”

A traditional spell related to proximity goes,
A host is a host from coast to coast
But no one will talk to a host that’s close
Unless of course the host that’s close is busy, hung, or dead.
Speaking of spells …
Style of cube, and cod of frog
Map of xorn, and bumps on log
Gorgon’s Pizza, and Remorhaz stings
Mimic’s snark, and favorite things
For a quest of powerful troubles
Hark to the mouther that gibbers and bubbles
So when these three meet again …
When in doubt, investigate what’s closest. It’s the pragmatic thing to do.
An adventuring party made up of a mimic, a gelatinous cube, a rust monster and a token babe are investigating the mystery of monsters acting weird.
This is so very meta.
Well, technically they’re abnormal, so by definition their adventures will also be abnormal. Also, Madeline’s not a token babe – this chapter FINALLY promoted her to recurring supporting character. 😉
Anyone else notice that Rusyy was left outside in the cold?
Most likely he’d just go, “Eat Pizza Pan?” So he’s probably feasting on any metal from the previous encounter.
If you go back a couple of strips he’s in the pizzareia, he’s just not had anything to add yet
Mimic… you’re flapping your little handles again…
Isn’t a ettin with one head just a giant?
