It’s “The Python of Merrssshaulk”, the item which Yuan-Tiffany is looking for. The item which “reversssesss the nature of whoever getsss in itsss sssightsss”. And it’s plugged into an amplifier as David mentioned.
I’d honestly like to see how Madeline would act if she was super smart for a short time, I bet she’d be a Munchkin type player and min max to the limit.
I’d say their hipsterism is the result of overexposure. Everything lame is cool, everything cool is lame, and women’s pants go on men! Or maybe they were already hipsters and high levels of irony gave them an immunity.
If they make an ironic comment that’s particularly cold to a demon or fey, will it do extra damage?
I could make some pun about vampires and sunshine, but it’s true – vampires *have* suffered from overexposure in recent years. Perhaps they became hipsters out of self preservation? “We were undead before it was fashionable, damn it!”.
Has… has he always been wearing that ‘Princess’ T-shirt? Did she license some T-shirts, or just agree not to beat up somebody when he asked if he could use her image on them?

Go, Yuan-Tiffany! Go! Show ’em how to do it!
Syndrome: “Hipster!”
He’s got it plugged into an amplifier. And not a Mimic-ed one. Interesting.
It goes up to eleven, but only ironically.
Abandon lair ! Hipsters and Vampires first !
BTW, what is that crowbar-thingy ?

Noooo, the hipstire’s going to give Madeline a PhD!
I think it’s quite probable that he doesn’t think it’s ironic enough. After all, he’s complaining about the location, he may just want to relocate.
“No wonder no one comes here; it’s too crowded.”
I’d honestly like to see how Madeline would act if she was super smart for a short time, I bet she’d be a Munchkin type player and min max to the limit.
Don’t forget, she’s also be a colossal jerk.
On a seperate note, love Yaun-Tiffany’s expression in the last panel XD
I still vote for “Smoldering Seductress Madeline” with limited edition leather armor…
So why aren’t the hipster vampires affected by the artifact?
Or were they non-hip before it?
Probably. Have you ever heard of a hipster vampire? Vampires are usually the opposite of hipsters.
Twilight comes to mind.

He’s always been wearing it.
Probably ironically.
I think they were selling the shirts at her concert a couple story arcs ago…
Which does sort of raise the question of whether he was at that concert, and if so, was that before or after he became a vampire?
If I recall correctly there was only a limited run of XL size shirts. This one’s probably a knockoff/counterfeit.
