Cephalopods have strange eyes, which evolved independently well after molluscs and chordates diverged. (It’s actually a part of the skin, rather than a part of the brain like the vertebrate eye.) Instead of a point, the pupil tends to constrict into a slit. The kraken’s eye here resembles the eye of a nautilus, with that circular bit on the end.
Your truth confuses me. I don’t think Limmick ever said they were the same, just implied that they had a common ancestor. And they didn’t evolve? Are you referencing intelligent design? (Is this some sort of meta hipster joke I’m missing the punchline of?)
Hmm..trying to remember; can elves even become vampires in 1st or 2nd edition? I have no idea of 3rd+ editions, it may have changed. Still they remind me of late 50’s early 60’s beatnick types, angst and all. Wonder where this levels adventurer is going? And are they the cause of monsters acting odd??? 🙂
Yeah, elves could become vampires. But not werewolves: lycanthropy was fatal to what were then categorized as ‘demi-humans’. Don’t you remember the drow vampire from module D3?
If I saw this bridge in a DnD game, I’d be using anything I could to avoid walking over it. That’s a kill zone right there. On the plus side, Cube can probably kill the Kraken from the inside if he gets swallowed.

Wait, does the that kraken have the “Elder God” eye? From the Legacy of Kain series?

Actually molluscs and chordates are related but were never “the same” and did not evolve. Other then that, you are correct.

I think the Elder God has a kraken eye.
A Kraken kinda outdoes a Cube doesn’t it?
“GOOD NIGHT SWEET KRACKEN!”
“…it’s pronounced Krakin”

Oh, they’re hipster Vampires, not Hipster Drow.
I know… doesn’t that suck…
so… those tents to the right… Grinner’s crew?
Tried checking Grinner’s Feysbook page, but he’s seems to be keeping quiet on this.
Didn’t say “two human vampires” did it? And they got pointy ears, don’t they?

Monsters acting strangely, perhaps.
Hmm. Will the kraken act strangely, I wonder.
I mean, elves becoming vampires when it’s impossible would be monsters acting strangely.
In 2e Ravenloft had an elven vampire. If i remember right moonlight affected it like sunlight.

And then he shouted unto the Kraken, “I SHALL PASS!!”
Its funny because its a poo joke…
If Cube doesn’t, Madeline will.
Ran across this comic today and thought of this, and synchronicity:

Yog Sohoth says hi from beneath the bridge.

Hey look King Friday!
