Still no ding? Lemme guess, one of the illithids, handsome D’an with even more bandages on his face, is going into a little spiel about revenge, despair, and disgust of all foods calamari.
Well, some kind of boss fight. Although I have a hard time imagining Don Polpo … unless he’s got helluva more brains than brawn and heavy-duty psionic skills. Psi-guys rather than wise guys?
The nice thing about adventuring with a rust monster is that when it comes time to divvy up the loot you can give them all the metal scraps and trash while you “only” keep that +5 Longsword of Murder Everything.
My first reaction on seeing the broom on Rusty’s back was the victory signal “clean sweep” as used by returning submarines when they’d killed all their targets. Then I remembered this was probably a magic broom and therefore just some random loot.
A home-built badger launcher would have to qualify as an improvised weapon. And someone like Perkins (that is, someone who’d build a badger launcher) almost certainly has one of those obscure feats granting proficiency in such things.
Four short levels, and this one was the longest yet, but immediately precedes the strip moving to *really* long arcs. Fitting that the alt text here would have to announce this as the penultimate L5 strip.

Awww. Pe(o)rkins needs a hug. She needs to hang out with Madelyn the Paladin to cheer her up.

Amirite?

Note to self: gelatinous cubes cannot digest polyester. Intriguing!
Well, gelatinous cubes can’t digest inorganic material, so.yeah, that should pretty much cover the illithid mob’s entire wardrobe.
Synthetic fabrics are still organic material. Inorganic would be rock and metal, not cloth.
Why hasn’t Rusty eaten any of that loot?
Doggy Bag.
Or should that be “Rusty-Bag”?
…”Monster-Bag”?
…”Aberration-Bag”?
Rusty’s version of iron rations
Groooooan!
I imagine he’s saving it for later? 😛

What makes you think the rust monster hasn’t already eaten said +5 Longsword of Murder Everything?
Because he dipped it in a fountain?
You might have to make a reflex save first, yeah. 🙂

so… what say handsome dan is at the Hook showing the world why starting a fight at the Hook is generally bad for one’s health?
The Blackguard has to come back… a villian smart enough to survive his first encounter with the heros deserves another chance to be killed by them.
and how many more times does Agent Perkins have to use that badger launcher to gain a proficiency with it?

Porkins, you just shot an adult badger into a mindflayer’s mouth. You just now made the list of “completely terrifying”
Not to mention the expression on her face as she did it.
that and considering she’s now a ‘friend’ of mimic…
