Level 5: #13
Chapter: Comic, Level 5 — Illithit Activities
Hey guys! We’ve gotten a good amount of votes for the Rusty plush but we’re not at the finish line yet! If you haven’t given it a vote, please take a minute to do so, and if you have geeky friends who might like a plush rust monster, share the link too! Thanks!
Update: If you’d like a Rusty plush, you can now buy them from the Rusty & Co. store!
This organization does not seem to have planned well for a bunch of adventurers.
Sure they have! They just haven’t planned for this particular bunch. And really, who could?
Do they really seem to have planned well for anyone?
They’re a syndicate of mindflayers. There must be some brains in there somewhere.
I agree with the ‘flayer in this strip, though – that’s actually a pretty good trap, designed to separate the smart and skilled adventurers (i.e tasty brains) from the rest of their party. It just needed a follow up, something to capture Mimic and Perkins before they could respond.
Resting on your laurels is a good way to not be prepared.
I think there is a “knuck knuck” joke in there.
I don’t know, it SOUNDS smart, but in reality it’s going to keep all the DEX based rogues and drop all the INT based wizards.
So THAT’s why it’s called “Melf’s Acid Arrow”!
Must be a pretty bad Acid (Arrow) trip if he thinks his face is melting…
Oh wow; go alternate flavor text.
I am almost certain that it was the cantrip Acid Splash.
Poison Spray, probably. 10ft range, high damage (1d12), has spray in the name (you can interpret the alt text as making a little more sense)
The spell’s Melf’s Acid Arrow. You can tell by the sound effect.
So if Cube is the tank, Rusty the DPS, and Presti the mage, what is Mimic?
Skillmonkey
He has all the knowledge checks
Party face. Well, party mouth at any rate.
From where these MMO terms intruding on our fair D&D? We play in rounds and turns here buddy, not seconds; and if you’re successfully running a “tank” it only means your DM is lazy or just totally uninvested in crafting fights.
Good question. Where does Mimic keep his eye?
So much use out of small-level spells! 😀
Stoogian. Three Stooges.
