Actually Ryu, in D&D terms, Anarchy pretty much does equal Chaos. Law can pretty much be defined as Order, emphasis on chain of command and obedience to authority. On the other hand, Chaos is more about personal freedom, not so much a lack of control as lack of hierarchy. That’s the definition of Anarchy today. (Or is that Libertarianism?)
Hell, Lawful Good could do this all the same (you’re under not legal obligation to let yourself get murdered because someone is mind controlled. If a villain sends wave after wave of mind controlled orphans at a Lawful Good paladin, there is no rule aside from an overzealous DM stating that the Paladin cannot defend herself. Your deity expects you to uphold the law and be a good, upstanding person. NOT a doormat.)
Wrong; willful harm of an innocent is an evil act by any book, mind control or no. The paladin would be allowed to defend herself, but would not be allowed to use lethal force… else, rules as written, she breaks her oath… and is now a fighter without bonus feats. If a DM removes her paladinhood for this offense, he is not overzealous as you claim, but is keeping his player accountable to her character’s actions.
Murderpals have turned me away from paladins as a class completely, and seeing so many people defending them is disheartening.
The murderpaladin is too far in one extreme, but punishing the slightest transgression without accounting for circumstances is equally too far in the other direction. I’m not trying to go full Rilmani, but even the most Lawful of Lawful Neutrals must understand the need for some flexibility in interpreting the law. Jean-Luc Picard said it best: “Life itself is an exercise in exceptions…there can be no justice so long as laws are absolute!”
Woah, wait a second there with Rusty. Can we take off the hood, then eat the gauntlets? I want to see what Primus Idioticus look like under that cloak and cowl.
For all we know, Princess is a paladin for the gods of trickery. Or, more likely, Princess is not lawful, nor good. There are very few rulers of a successful kingdom that are. Ether way, seriously villain: put your net set of ranks in ‘mastermind’ and ‘scry’.
I’ll vote she’s a follower of Sun Wukong — only just on the side of law, but only because the lawful side cheated and used cohersion, and because the real evil annoys gets in the way of her having good time.
lawful good, neutral good, and chaotic good could all easily justify it.
they are savings lives and thwarting evil. Yes, they injure a few people, but injuries are easily healed with magic and no permanent harm is done. Those people being injured are mind controlled into murder. Beating them up protects them from committing murder (which, while probably doesn’t count in court or alignment, might cause them mental trauma), and are preventing from harming innocents (including yourself).
TBH, even killing is ok thanks to resurrection (and as the princess she can afford to res them)
Hmm, he doesn’t say HOW Whitey’s destruction came about…is it possible that he’s cunning enough to dupe Madeline into casting “Turn Undead”?
Weirder still, what if he’s Madeline’s evil mirror? Madeline=female, Calmitus=male. One’s good, one’s evil. One shows her face, the other hides his. One’s incompetent, the other can handle herself just fine. One’s ditzy and somewhat naive, the other is…
…Um…okay, I guess they have to be somewhat alike…

Being Chaotic Good means never having to say you’re sorry.
Chaotic What, now?
Chaotic Good? No way.
Chaotic Neutral or Neutral Evil more likely. Possibly True Neutral.
Definitely Chaotic, not True Neutral, if the anarchy symbol she insists upon wearing is anything to go by.
“Anarchy =/= Chaos.”

Chaotic Good fits!

Chaotic Neutral, with strong Evil tendencies.
I guess we skipped past the “Boy I’m gonna warn ya…” portion of the song.
Then the band started leaving… Cause they all stopped breathing…
The moral of the story: Always, ALWAYS, keep an eye on your intended victim. Especially if you can hear sounds of a fight.
This villain needs to learn two things
1 – The meaning of chaotic neutral
2 – The perils of monologuing after combat has begun
That would be a necessary start, but no more — this guy needs to read the entire Evil Overlord List.
I would sure like to know what give this dumbbell the impression that she was morally restrained from Anything.
Might’ve been the hat. Yeah. It’s good to have something that gives your nemesis wrong impressions.
Cue Rusty coming in, “Eat Gauntlets?”
Woah, wait a second there with Rusty. Can we take off the hood, then eat the gauntlets? I want to see what Primus Idioticus look like under that cloak and cowl.
thinking Doctor Doom!

Nah; check the cast page:
Name: The Princess
Species: Human
Class: Monk
Now, what order she’s part of… That’s a more fun question.
Villain definitely didn’t do his homework, then. Attacking an unarmed, unarmored foe works wonders in D&D…
… unless it’s a monk.
I’d say he should’ve tricked her into putting on chainmail, but Rusty complicates that plan as well.
Not just a monk, either – remember her “obscure and very powerful” prestige class? GM’s Girlfriend… not someone to be carelessly offended.
I’ll vote she’s a follower of Sun Wukong — only just on the side of law, but only because the lawful side cheated and used cohersion, and because the real evil annoys gets in the way of her having good time.
Shouldn’t being a monk make the princess lawful?
As long as there’s no “kill”, there’s no allignment penality? Maybe…?
BWAHAHAHA. GM’s GF. Love it. Monk DMs GF. Sweet.

OH GOD, not an alignment thread! Where’s the remote! Where’s the remote?!
(P.S. The audience member who’s been flung THROUGH a table made me laugh.)
I think the would-be villain just started playing Skid Row.
In his pants!
Well, of *COURSE* a blitz will be fast…
…”blitz” is, after all, the German word for “lightning”:
