There’s a man in the back… This doesn’t work with the chapter title! His eyes arent as red as the sun! Oh wait… The suns more yellow than red, isn’t it.. So as a matter of fact, his eyes areas red as the sun!
Some where in my wittle bunny head I keep thinking: My gods, I didn’t know Shadow Weaver had a brother. If indeed that is Calamitus, or any relation there of, I can see the family resemblance. The genetic curse of always being thwarted by the good guys carries on. Makes me wonder what their ancient relations did to tick the Gods off that badly…
Oh, yippee-yi-ki-yay. Now screening every movie where bad bro is outta lockdown and comes looking for the guys that offed his little bro. Or, hey, maybe it’s mommy (‘cuz nobody takes Cat Ballyhoo seriously and the thought of Calamintous actually breeding …)
Weird. I keep hearing Ann/Nancy Wilson from Heart. But then, I’m a Seattlelite.
Hah. “PC” Thanks again for the gnome. I’ve been playing “Lands of Hyperboria” and ‘Cast gnome” spell is terrific.
You just made me wonder, what if it’s not just the competent brother*, what if it’s the whole damned family coming back for revenge?
I can see the Heart connection for vocalist, but I keep hearing Betsy Martin of Caterwaul in my head.
*I say the competent brother because Calamitus was a complete failure as a villain, and Whitey’s killer actually not only go the drop on him, but made damn sure he wasn’t going to be coming back to, uh, “life”.
A few minutes after posting I suddenly thought of the old M.Keaton’s movie “Multiplicity” and wondered if Calamitus was the “goofy” copy that was missing a few pixels.
I recall a dwarf “got better” after being dissolved by the big green bullion cube. For him, maybe passing kinfolk or friends got him resurrected.
Now Calamitus, maybe he’s one of those smart idiots. Technically smart in that he’s got a latent resurrection spell working for him so that kill him once and, gosh darnit, here he comes again (lookin’ better than anyone has a right to)! Yeah, the ol’ “deadman’s lever” shtick. Although I’ll have to go back and review ‘cuz I don’t think it specifically states he’s a lich lord of any sort. Necromancer though?
Cube doesn’t appear to dissolve bones, or might, but prefers the soft stuff, thus leaving perfectly intact skeletons fit for resurrection.
I finally got a chance to check this comic out (I’ve been meaning to for a while). It is fantastic- the story is engaging and the art is characterful and clean. I’m a Pixie Chick fan already.

That robe, those eyes; it reminds me of somebody, but he got eaten…
Oh my God, could it really be? It can’t be…
It’s Calamitus’ competent brother!

He’s staring… All creepy like.
True. Incompetence can get creepy sometimes.

And now I want to hear the rest of that song…
I dig your tag. Veggie juice for everyone!
and…cue dramatic music.
and…that song resonates to my inner being.
The Opening, with the Drumsticks reminds me of Scott Pilgrim Vs. (In a good way!) 🙂
Is there a bad way to be reminded of Scott Pilgrim?
