Having spent cumulative years on solitary ‘guard duty’, generally a few hours at a time, but up to 16 on occasion, I can confirm that. I’ve solved all the world’s problems in my head many times over, but none of my own 😉
Rusty lugged Madeline all the way back to the Hook without eating her armor. He no longer regards friendly armor as food. Roxy herself, with some help from Petey, may be the source of character development here.
