EmptyMenagerie hit the nail on the head. Talking rashly in front of the elves. . . .
‘Yo dawg, we heard you like crushing elvish spirits, so we sent you to crush an Elvish spirit who was crushing the Elves spirits, the method of which proved to be crushing his spirit by crushing the Elvish spirit (during the process of figuring this out, the half-Elf’s spirit was crushed) and after getting rid of him, you took the opportunity to reveal a piece of information that would probably crush their spirits.’
It had to be done.
Roxy is not a half-elf. But the boiler stoker’s bottle may have been of elvish spirits.
Right, of course. Full Elf raised by barbarians, brain malfunctioned. But that makes it eve better.
It was stated she’s adopted, and we know at least one of her birth parents was an elf, but for all we know, she could be a half-elf.
Since the elven oracles “are useful”, and the boiler stoker seems to have a very good grasp on future events, I wonder if those oracles are actually using a landline to the boiler room without knowing.
Considering our one oracle thus far has not, that would appear to be unnecessary
Sure, but the elves boasted that their oracles were better. That could just be elven bravado, it could just be that they have an older or otherwise more capable oracle, or it could mean they’re tapping into another power that we know has good foresight.
I hear the Final Fantasy victory fanfare in the background of that first panel, which immediately cuts off when Roxy turns around in the second.
Alyssa is so tempting. I wonder if “having an elf on the side” means different things to the elf than it does to the cube?
Wait.
The “hoverboard” is the item they were after in the first place?
I think it’s the round thing in the bottom of the board. Roxy is just taking the whole thing because it’s probably easier than removing the stone here.
I feel like something’s up with Roxy’s line in the fifth panel, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. “The human appreciates your…artifact.” What human? Have we seen one this chapter? (Even Skippy’s species is listed as “Unknown” on the cast page.) If it’s a specific human like the Princess, why not just name them? And why the pause before “artifact”?
I can’t tell if Mimic’s expression in the same panel is him picking up on this oddity too, or just me reading into things that aren’t there.
Sorry, typo on my part, this comic was rushed at the end. I have fixed it.
Oh, OK, phew! I was wondering if this was some hint that “Roxy” was actually a doppelgänger who’d slipped up, or been possessed by the artifact or something. ?
I wonder if one of the oracles tried to find out how she would do on her test, using glitter pen.
Roxie got board and left.
