Yphrum’s Law is “everything that can work, will work”, that’s not what’s happening here.
If it’s a ‘law’ this is some sort of “Law of Fae”. Taunt them at you’re own peril. This is also in line with apotropaic magic: tossing salt over your shoulder if you spill it, knocking on wood, etc. It’s less a “law” than just a “thing to do” to ward off bad luck.
I was thinking Roxy’s little ‘A little TV-quality slime isn’t gonna stop us.’ was taunting Murphy. We don’t know how much more of that stuff the ghost has.
I bet Zar didn’t see *that* coming, either. Derek can be quite the dapper dresser. Though I’m now getting images of him pointing his finger and shouting “OBJECTION!”
I was wondering whether Dorilys, oh, dropped a pebble or something. But then I remembered that of the three missions, the one with our Rube Goldberg cleric was the one that Zar pronounced Excellent. Apparently he can cope with her powers.
I’ve theorized that his ability to see the future (or a possible future, anyway) makes her nervous, perhaps due to her powers being based on probability.

Good art in the last panel. Thanks.
Roxy just taunted Murphy, got slimed, then immediately taunted Murphy again…
Who’s the opposite of Murphy? That’s who got taunted the second time.
The opposite of Murphy? Yphrum. Eh, close enough to Ephraim so I’ll go with that.

Basically Roxy just Tempted Fate because she Just Had to Say It.

Good old Derek.
Stuff the dormouse in the teapot! The price tag must be on the other side of that hat.
No, no! He said “the catering,” not “the catering staff”!
They’re in for a physical challenge.
Looks like they’re having off-site treaty talks at the Hotel Califormian?
They let Maddie back?
Perhaps off-site talks with the hotel catering?
Or perhaps Derek talked them into it.
Stabitha can’t enjoy her cake.
Stabitha almost never gets to have her cake and eat it too.
I was under the impression that the cue to be slimed was, “I don’t kn—-hey! I’m not going to be fooled that easily!”
(Older reader who watched “You Can’t Do That on Television” as a kid. If you know, you know.)
Hey, it’s better than being launched into a ravine when you invoke The Words.

He slimed me.
Ok, we NEED to see the castle defense arc
