Poor Mimic, but at least Princess literally leapt to his defense. I think getting her back and ready to take charge will do more to help in the long run. The belt changes genres, so it should be easy to track down as it moves through the land with Anti-Mady. Finding Princess would have been harder without a deliberate “Go here” quest.
Also, I think Mimic is reflexively becoming a DOORMAT since everyone is stepping on him verbally.
Mimic may be a pervert, a fast talker, and a shifty guy, but by the gods, when he says he’ll do something, he freaking does it. Princess of all people can appreciate the merit of a flawed yet down-to-earth hero who’ll do what’s needed of them even when they’re disrespected or barely tolerated by the majority of their associates. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you’re perfect or popular; what matters is that you’re willing and able to do the right thing and get the job done.
He doesn’t seem to be talking about foresight though. He talks about events like they’ve already happened. What I’m wondering is what happened and, presuming it was something bad if he’s trying to change it, things being different this time is bothering him.
Thanks, Mike! I feel like Mimic kinda sets himself up for almost as many jokes as he makes intentionally — which is quite a few.
And good on the Princess standing up for Mimic! It’s encouraging by itself, and it means that much more after he helped her break out of her depression and isolation.
Apparently Mike is no longer giving out Gnome Prizes, as Paper Tiger just gets a shoutout. Which amounts to basically the same thing, but I miss the gnomes, they were cute. (Om Gnom Gnom cracks me up every time I remember it.)

Nobody’s criticizing Stabs. I guess word of her knife trick has gotten around.
Besides, after the Games, they have the idea that Mimic’s the leader and Stabs is following his lead.

Finally! Someone HAD to say “Tell us how to fix the universe!”.
(Also in this comic, btw…)
And based on his reaction face int eh last panel, I don’t think Zar knows…
I’m assuming I need to thank Paper Tiger for the referencing…
Should I not say it so that it is still a mystery to those unfamiliar with the manga/anime in question?
Wise guys have alluded to it in other comments. We can spell it out if you are still unfamiliar.
Please do.
As it is being stated flat out in other comments, I’ll share it (minor spoiler for the anime/manga in question):
…
“Caped Baldy” is a One Punch Man reference.
Considering how many of us probably do not read manga, let alone all manga… yeah, I’m sure most of don’t get the reference.
Caped Baldy!! Nice shout out to another of my favorite comics.
I don’t think he’ll suggest punching it.

“The best the could”?
(panel 4)
the best th[at h]e could.
Presumably.
Could also be t[hat] he could
Fixed, thank you.
One notes that Zar’s reaction is NOT “there’s an artifact loose in the hands of an evil and impulsive lunatic” but that his foresight is wrong.
Probably because he knows that the evil and impulsive lunatic isn’t that bright, but he doesn’t know WHY his foresight is wrong.
Plus, there’s always “… an artifact loose in the hands of an evil and impulsive lunatic” .
Add serious scenery chewing and you have every Bond/ Star Trek/ Sword & Sorcery movie ever!

He does that. Probably an artifact of the way he relates to time. Or perhaps his native language does not have tenses like English.

He was also the one who came up with using the fourth wall mail slot to flush Tarta out of hiding.
Standing Ovation for the Princess standing up for Mimic.
He might be Caped Baldy, but if anybody’s defeating anyone in one punch, my money’s on the Princess.
Caped Baldy! Captain Interruptus! Dollartree Dr Strange! Mrs. Mulch!
I love that Princess doesn’t treat Zar any different from the others.

Edit: Sorry, wrong comment to reply to.
“It’s not his fault the fans voted for the worst possible candidate to help him retrieve the belt for shiggles!”
Does make me wonder though, who else *did* help Mimic in Zar’s version of events?
