I suppose this is kind of a good thing… if Madeline got resurrected before they escaped, then it’s possible she was upset when she remembered because she doesn’t know what happened to these guys. Not because something horrible happened to them! (I will cling to this hope!!)
Like waking up from a dream just as you get to a good part.
Also, I had a horrible guess just what these creatures are: Dimensional repair-critters. They’re showing up because somebody is tearing holes in reality and they’re trying to fix them after dealing with whatever caused the tear in the first place.
…though I have to wonder about the repair-critter setup. I don’t think we saw the first one do very much except whip a bunch of people off the roof. The second one ate a T. rex, smashed a bunch of the stadium, and also tried to whip a bunch of people. Some of that might be “dealing with whatever caused the tear” but that’d mean it’s not good at detective work, seeing as it wasn’t any of their faults. Self-defense doesn’t feel right either — the only clear visible threat was Angelissa, and the creature was wrecking stuff before she showed up. Even the alt-text from the T.rex’s demise called it not a major threat but “the biggest cookie on the snack tray.”
I’m just saying, if a plumber came to my house and helped themselves to my cookie jar before they started fixing anything, I wouldn’t trust that plumber.
If other Planes are getting torn apart… that could happen to “Hell” planes as well. It’s just enlightened self-preservation at that point… because Maddie would move Heaven to save Hell if she knew it was necessary.

Yes.
And it’s very upset in itself that the afterlife is upset and souls are in danger.
I, too, hope.

Looks more like waking up from a dream just when you’re getting to the riding an eldrich horror part.
Like I said, a good part.
“The good part” is relative. And when you’re a paladin, you consider the rescue to be the good part.
Like Clock Roaches but for reality
I dig the “waking from a dream” feeling!

The Langoliers?
Oh, badly timed rez is gonna give someone survivor’s guilt.
Called it last strip!
Looks like you did. Well done.
There isn’t peace or serenity out of the light, but please come anyway.
All this really makes me wonder why the Fiends want Maddie to to remember this…

Cue “welcome back” hug from Mimic?
