She’d get on great with the bard I’m currently playing… likewise a relentless optimist who’ll always look to talk and find a non-violent solution even after the fight has started, and who’ll tend the wounds of defeating enemies afterwards. Though combined, they’d be unbearable for everyone else in the party… that much “nice” doesn’t belong in one place.
Come to think of it, I wonder if Maddie was an unconscious inspiration? They’re pretty different in most respects, but there’s a certain common essence.
Y’all need an unflappably cheery monk to join in on this optimistic adventure? Then again, Maddie’s already got some monk skills going, it’d be a silly overlap.
Remember that it’s possible to make matters worse whatever your intentions are. Although, actually, given their appraisal of their situation — hmm, I suppose they could fear it will be more painful first.
Who is he speaking to? There’s only three of them there… and he wouldn;t need to say “everyone” if he was addressing just his Wizard buddy and Madeline.
Back up one page; there were five more figures in the last panel. Not a lot of definition to them, but I’m pretty sure they’re people. Also back on the first two pages of this scene (#12 & #13) there was a number of such figures, somewhat distant, so the lack of definition was less surprising. Pretty sure Olivier is addressing them as well.

She talked with the kraken when it had Mimic in a choke-hold.

If you don’t have a plan, the Paladin will provide one for you.
No guarantees on whether or not you LIKE the plan. 😉
No guarantees that she won’t ruin your plan by telling you it’s not nice to lie in the middle of your bluff, either.
This is so Maddie.
I suppose it is possible they’re flying around wondering who just smashed a wall into their dimension and looking for a way to fix it too
Heck, they might all be max level paladins wondering what the strange insects with spiky bits are doing
What is she doing?
She’s saving your butts, that’s what she’s doing!
Trying to, trying to.

Yeah Maddie’s plan is a lot better than just sitting around waiting to fall into the reality eating hole.
Sometimes, you just have to operate on one thing: FAITH! And Maddie has that in spades, pitch forks, hoes, and shovels.
Charisma: 18
Intellect: …Higher than 0
Wisdom: Higher than Intellect
“Sorry everyone.”
