Well obviously, the funniest timing would be Mimic, Stabs, and Princess returning while Pres, Dor, and the rest are in the middle of trying to corral the castle. And suddenly, I remember that the Speak n’ Spell is capable of transmuting stone and living flesh…so what about living stone? Oh, wait, Y.T. released the spirits powering the SnS. So much for that option.
…Too bad that wasn’t a Super Natural Enchantment System they were using.
She isn’t a new addition to the cast list, unless I miss my guess. We already met her in 8-179 through 8-186. I’d guess that her bust is somewhere between 10 and 50 yards.
Oh, so she’s another player’s character? I knew a couple people got their characters in the story (Dorilys included) but I didn’t realize the Planar Ally was one of them.
Yes, the angel was my Patreon award, based on my character Angelissa. Under 3.5e astral devas can be player characters, although with a +8 level adjustment.
Hyssop’s behaviour continues to puzzle me. He was introduced as the head cleric, persumably 2nd in command only to the Princess herself, and shown to have a collected yet decisive manner during the shroom games. Yet for this entire arc we keep seeing him twiddling his thumbs, if he does anything at all. He didn’t engage in the interrogation, he hasn’t contributed either his powers of divination or his own insight/wisdom when it was important to understand and counter the enemies’ moves, and now the time to act has definitely come and gone several times and taken the castle with it.
Yet all we hear from Hyssop is some comment on the name of his Planetar friend, while he leaves all aspects of leadership to his subordinates who loudly profess to not knowing what to do or what’s going on.
Supreme confidence?
Shroomification like Grawl?
Replacement by shapeshifter?
Domination by X?
Feeblemindedness?
Something else?
Derek is repeatedly shown to be the other clerics’ superiour; most recently during the interrogation where Dorilys requested (and was granted) permission to use a particular tactic. He is also the keeper of the most dangerous divine artifacts, unlike the other clerics he has an office, the other clerics defer to him in matters of healing, and he is repeatedly shown to be the most powerful of them, e.g. in matters of divination and conjuration (planetar). He is also part of the royal council (along with mage dude), whereas Presti and Dorilys are often on bodyguard (i.e. not on council) duty.
The fact that Dorilys made light of his oath shows that they have a friendly relationship and that Derek is not very strict on discipline, at least when it doesn’t matter.
Different specialties. Derek is the best spellcaster and a source of moral fiber, but he’s also an avowed pacifist unless the undead are involved. Dorilys most likely has more experience with combat, commanding soldiers and dealing with emergencies. That’s why Derek was primarily on healing duty during the games and Dorilys was usually out on the field.
It’s a bit meta, but maybe this is just because the fans got to vote which two characters would star this chapter (along with Cube), and Derek didn’t win the vote?
Something just occurred to me. Maybe someone else noticed it already.
Anti-Madeline swiped the magic 8-ball AND the belt of genre changing. The viscount has the python of mershaulk (last seen in YT’s possession). YT also had the speak-and-spell, which may no longer need souls to power it if the python was also in play.
All told, the artifacts seem to be funneling their way into evil hands.
No, Anti-M/Maladine never swiped the 8-ball, she sabotaged it so it would “explode” and end up stuck on the other side of the reality crack thus wedging it open. Presumably it’s still there and the ‘crack’ (great gaping hole) is under guard at all times.
Mini-Mean does have the Belt of Genre Changing though.
Am I just seeing something that isn’t there, or should we be expecting some specific surprises in the upcoming forest… Corpse Brides, Singing Holidays, Danny Elfman music?

I really wonder where this is going- besides crazy, of course!
down, obviously
I wonder how the timelines are going to synchronize.
If this is before 10-50, then the castle will shortly end up inanimate, mostly intact, and back where it was.
However, if this is after 10-50, then some extra help may soon be available. A well-placed explosion may affect the castle’s defection route.

The belt of gene changing can fix that.
Like Anti-M will FIX anything with it.
She might fix something if it gives her a chance to break it afterward.
Bradd Pit?
Bradd Pit??
Bradd Pit?!!!?
Did you forget Stabs trying to find a way to the circus?
Sending someone named Angelissa near the Bradd Pit seems like it will either go very well or very, very poorly.
Angelissa isn’t known for being jolly.
“Range and depth” LOL
Nobody crosses Bradd Pit!
Little known fact, the bottom of the Bradd pit is filled with small, thin nails.
Time to start taking bets on the cup size of whoever we’re about to add to the already enormous R&C cast list….

Clears throat
His Ally from the baseball story? She was a Tuckerization. The person who played the character mentioned in the comments that her name is Angelissa.
Oh, so she’s another player’s character? I knew a couple people got their characters in the story (Dorilys included) but I didn’t realize the Planar Ally was one of them.

Cool. I don’t know much about 3.5, but from what I’ve heard, playing as an astral deva doesn’t sound too farfetched.
Well, why raid the castle to get the loot, when you can have the castle bring the loot to you?
Apparently, to avoid leaving a trail THAT clear to follow.
Alright, I’ll bite.
Angel is a what?
Angel is a centerfold…
Super psyched to see what happens next. If the other commenters are correct, its that giant angel that appeared earlier on.
Oh oh no.
Her name is now Bigguns.
ok, i just want to know if the syllable break is between the Gs or after the second G.
I suspect she lives up to the name, though.

Where was he introduced as the head cleric?
After all, Dorilys had no issues with dismissing his oath as his problem.
The fact that Dorilys made light of his oath shows that they have a friendly relationship and that Derek is not very strict on discipline, at least when it doesn’t matter.
The interrogation could have been nothing more than playing good cop, bad cop.

That’s why Derek was primarily on healing duty during the games and Dorilys was usually out on the field.
Could have something to do with the swapped magic 8-ball. Maybe something has been feeding him misleading visions.
Also, of course, he was the guy who brought Mimic to Zar. He knows something’s up and he’s not in on it.
It’s a bit meta, but maybe this is just because the fans got to vote which two characters would star this chapter (along with Cube), and Derek didn’t win the vote?
You’re forgetting Derek one true ‘flaw’, he’s a passive-fist.
I’ll see myself out.
Something just occurred to me. Maybe someone else noticed it already.

I don’t think she still has the 8 ball, it’s a bit big for her to be carrying around.
Oh oops, this was meant to be a reply to the guy above.
The comment system does that.
if you miss the CAPTCHA, be sure to click on the “reply” link, but I’m not sure that’s an exhaustive list of the ways it can go wrong.
I wonder how Presti was able to tell that the castle is a male
Panel 3 #62.
At least one part was tall and rock-hard?
Not to mention the size of the castle’s hands!
Am I just seeing something that isn’t there, or should we be expecting some specific surprises in the upcoming forest… Corpse Brides, Singing Holidays, Danny Elfman music?
‘Timberton Woods’ -> ‘Tim Berton Woods’ -> ‘Tim Burton Woods.’
So is the way to make a new road to animate a large building and have it drag itself along????
Maybe a road, maybe a trench. They may be trying to funnel something into Bradd Pit.
