You might be onto something there, the Duke has been known to associate with undead and even technically make some…
They’d have to dump a box of skittles on the floor and see if he stops to count them to be sure 😉
That was Anti-Mady, and she isn’t the most known for actually knowing what is going on. No, I think the Viscount revealed what he wants out of Malevolus, someone amenable on the throne.
Further I don’t think the Viscount has actually ever outright lied. Perhaps not spoken the whole truth, but I don’t think he was lying at all.
By a significant margin. Dukes are high peers of the realm; historically, they were often equal in real power to their monarchs.
But the Viscount, even if he were an ordinary royal plotter and not the pawn of fiends, could have much to gain from placing an easiky influenced character like Mal to the throne. Killing him later makes little sense, unless it’s something the fiends want for their own purposes.
Unless this principality is devoid of almost all its aristocracy, a viscount is never going to get a chance at the throne.

That Malevolus is a real stinker.
An absolute Dukebag!
OTOH, Morrison?
I wonder if he obtained his nobility title by receiving a land Grant?
He seems to be approaching the princess
????
Aww, the katakana didn’t render right. I was going for the Jojo reference :/
Jojo reference attempt noticed and counted
Maybe the moat is akin to a circle of salt that keeps out evil spirits?
Maybe if they circulate it constantly around the castle it could keep out vampires?

What are you referring to?
Maybe the moat was full of salty water? Then it’d be a literal circle of salt around the castle!
So… bets on whether or not Malevolus knows that’s Roxy?
And can the derro be found? Has the plan changed?
Wait, he’s a duke? Does that mean he outranks the Viscount?
Then again, in an evil court that would make the Viscount a potential usurper, which isn’t too far off the mark.
It would fit what we know of the viscount if he went and killed Malevolus once he got the throne.
