The castle should be thankful they have Cube on their side. Some may have been worried that a wandering monster would not gel with the humans, but they have to admit he is their best asset to block the enemy.
Well this looks interesting pretty much right off the bat! Bit of a shame the votes didn’t end up bringing a former (?) enemy into the party, but Happ is less pissed off than we’ve ever seen her and the character dynamics between them promises to be entertaining.
Definitely. We got to see it a bit when she was talking to Maddie and Derek, but Mimic and the Games in general probably didn’t put her in the best mood.
I’d guess she is able to ‘sleepwalk’ her way (by) now. Her being completely unfazed by the sounds of pitched battle suggests that this shit has been going on for a while and is nothing out of the ordinary. Cube might just be enjoying himself a bit too much there; usually he should/would have gotten it (i.e., shit) done by now.
Found it from comments on XP Boost that were many years old, was expecting to find another comic that had run its course or just petered out (no offense Robespierre!), but pleasantly surprised that this latest entry is only a few days old, so I can add this to my regular rotation!

This is the second time Dorilys has had the right drink on-hand for whoever needed it. Either this happens a lot, or she made a lucky guess.
Given her empties, perhaps she’s just sharing what she drinks herself.
Lucky that they like their coffee the same way, then? I’m working luck in there one way or another.
Isn’t she a cleric of luck or something?
Yup!
> or she made a lucky guess.
Or, as Dorilys calls it, “a guess”.
A guess of good luck.
Remember she’s green because of luck — bad luck, albeit “could be a lot worse” luck.
I like how her coat of arms on her shield is a four leafed clover. 🙂
He rolled out the BullyRug
Appropriate device on Dorylis’ shield.
and Cube’s looks like a self-portrait
Like Cube in a corner.
Well, perhaps it’s a good thing that Derek is not in on this one.
At the very least, he won’t be happy about this.
Trust Cube to be serious about not being serious while being a serious badass as well
Cube knows how to face down an enemy. Even when he’s cornered, he’ll square up and come out even. He’s not even on edge–what would be the point?
The castle should be thankful they have Cube on their side. Some may have been worried that a wandering monster would not gel with the humans, but they have to admit he is their best asset to block the enemy.
Let’s face it: he is secant to none.
Actually, I think he’s secant to the sphere of curvature of his shield.
Quote (from a while back now): Cube gets shit done!
Oh, Cube, don’t ever change.
Well this looks interesting pretty much right off the bat! Bit of a shame the votes didn’t end up bringing a former (?) enemy into the party, but Happ is less pissed off than we’ve ever seen her and the character dynamics between them promises to be entertaining.
I’ve heard of sore losers, but this is a whole new level.
I guess Presti must have blindsight.
… Did Presti forget to remove her sleeping mask? How does she see where she is walking?
Seems like this has been going on long enough that it’s routine for her by now.
Like I said, blindsight.
It occurs to me that the phrase “It’s not easy being green” can apply in multiple ways to this strip.
Level 9: We get to stay at a hotel!
Level 10: We get to solve a noir mystery!
Level 11: WAR
What IS it good for…
Absolutely nothing, Say it again now.
It’s an excellent plot device.
War. War never changes.
“My name is Cubus Viridis, Champion of the Games, protector of the chatty mimic, ally of rust monsters, and loyal servant to the TRUE Princess!”
You have my vote for using the Latin for ‘Green Cube’.
Also, “On my order release Heck!”
I always thought “Hell” was the name of Crowe’s dog in “Gladiator”.
Sudden thought: Grinner (or whatever he turned into in the aftermath of explosion, lava, etc.) will turn up in this level.
I love that when Mimic isn’t around we get another side of Dorylis. Our introduction to her was rather unfortunately biased, given the circumstances.
Definitely. We got to see it a bit when she was talking to Maddie and Derek, but Mimic and the Games in general probably didn’t put her in the best mood.
Next for the part where cube lures them into a him-sized hallway.
Trust the wizard to walk around “blindfolded” and still get where she needs to go. Divination, detect spells or simply her having hightened senses?
I’d guess she is able to ‘sleepwalk’ her way (by) now. Her being completely unfazed by the sounds of pitched battle suggests that this shit has been going on for a while and is nothing out of the ordinary. Cube might just be enjoying himself a bit too much there; usually he should/would have gotten it (i.e., shit) done by now.
Holy shit I just caught up! Loving this comic ?

(also, that captcha is a right pain in the arse)
Welcome, Jess! Yeah, this comic is in it for the long haul.
(Updates happen most Wednesdays, and you’re just in time for a new chapter!)
I notice that panel 2 refers back to the Viscount’s comment about the palace being infiltrated (see Dr. Grawlf in 8-191).
I didn’t get the impression that that’s specifically what’s going on here, but I think you’re right that it’ll come up soon.
Cube, in the role of Horatius?
