Ah. Film Noir genre, of course. Of course the femme fatale hiring the P.I. in the first scene will kill him* – or someone close – down the line.
* or attempt to, anyway.
No, that was pointed out a while ago. The question has always been which twist. Would she be the loyal daughter coming to clean up loose ends for him or the angry daughter of an abandoned or even unwilling mother coming for revenge or at least back child support payments? Or something even twistier we hadn’t thought of.
This lass is a cut above the rest. I love the fact that Stabs is hiding behind the barrel while still looking calm. Deadpan “Crap, better hide behind something that can shield my body” in response to the Princess’ potential fury. Quite handily, this also means she probably hasn’t been cut by Tarta’s blade.
I mean like, it looks like the sword swing is shooting out ripples of force that cut like a sword. It even cuts the princess multiple times with one blade swing. What is this thing? It is terifying and I want to use it.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal…!
Yyyyyup. She’s Plaidbeard’s daughter, alright!
Mimic really should have expected this. Never trust a dame with a job, no matter how innocent she looks!

I suspect that AM will solve this problem shortly…
how else is she going to fix it, if not „shortly“
She may have a small contribution to make.
Stabitha is halfway there already, I expect. (Yes, I know, that’s really weak).
“Say hello to my little friend.”
“You’re no Al Pacino, Mimic, and I’m not your friend. And I’m not that li…l…the l-word!”
Explosively.
Nothin’ but trouble.
The princess is up the … ramp? … without her paddle. (Yes, I _know_ it was an oar.)
Of course, Tarta has been wearing a belt from her first appearance. What genre is the “SHA-SHAK” from?
sword genre
“..usually by th’ person they were tryin’ to help!”
Hey, Princess, found one of the artifacts!
Well, maybe. That MIGHT to be a dramatic pose to get their attention.
Well, you can’t say Mimic didn’t see it coming. Although, considering he hasn’t got his eye out, maybe he didn’t.
Oh no! She multiclassed into assassin!
Did it really take people this long to see where the name “Tarta” came from? Really really?
She’s a Tartar?
From ‘tartan’, the Scottish cloth pattern. It’s as plaid as the nose on your face.
I had no clue until reading this. Well played.
I think you mean, “Well plaid.”

That looked a lot like blind speculation when I read people saying that. Nobody quite made the connection out of the gate.
boy i love random pricks clicking the dislike button for no reason and not even having something to say about it. At least don’t be a coward.
She seemed nice.
She was good at seeming.
Noir. Dames are always trouble.
They are just a dame nuisance!
So what did become of an honest, down-to-earth backstabbing? All this excessive violence! Personally I blame videogames and webcomics!
Anyone shocked by this turn of events…?
Anyone?
It’s always the Dame that double crosses the private dick.

So, not much discussion of the weapon itself. “Flit” and “Sha-Shaak” don’t scan as anything to me. Does somebody have any idea what this is?
It’s a Switch-Blade… probably going to switch the genre too…
